Battle of Trakla Empty Battle of Trakla

Post by -Aki- Sun Nov 09, 2008 4:14 pm

Story: On the urban planet of Trakla, a terrorist group calling themselves The Dark Hand have surfaced. They have been taking villages and cities, and appear to be working for/with the CIS. However, they have hatched a unspeakable plan: They are going to launch 2 nuclear missiles at Coruacunt. One is targeting the Senate, the other targeting The Grand Army's barracks. If either reaches their target, the republic will be crippled. The 101st has been dispatched to enter the main base, fight their way to the command centre, and then detonate the missiles in space before they can reach their target, then set a charge, and destroy the building.

Mission Danger: 10/10
Republic Forces: The entire legion, Scar, and *Insert Thomsons new name here*'s finest.
Other info: Bounty hunter, Dark Dagger (Previously known as the White Warrior) has been sighted on the planet. Approach with caution.

So yeah, this will be really cool project!

Ehh... nuclear missiles are way behind Star Wars technology. By this time, (4000 years), they'd have missles that could destroy entire planets. But it sounds good!

Epic PHALE!

Actually, it's pretty surprising to know the number of people who can't spell Coruscant.

'The Dark Hand'?? I'm pretty sure that's already a cannon name for star wars, if not, then something really close.

Coruacunt. Hmm. Corua.

NUCLEAR MISSILES ZOMG

Nukes are probably like bunker busters in the Star Wars galaxy.

NOTE: Atomic weaponry is pretty much anything that involves splitting atoms to make a big explosion.

So in the Star Wars universe, they could make bombs that use that technology, but blows up continents and still call it a "Nuke". Razz

True. But "SWs" Atomic Missles could be 10 times the power of present day nuclear missles. Remember, they used nuclear missles 4000-10000 odd years ago.

It's not really off-topic. We're discussing a sub-topic on this subject, Nuclear Weaponry.

But onto the "topic",

The concept is good, I'd change the name though, like "Iron Fist" or "Death Squad".

Lets take that name-changing concept a little further... How about "Phantom Claw?" Smile

Big flaw here: Nukes. Are. Obsolete.

Period. They'd just desintigrate in a planetary defense shield, get shot down, blown up, fried by point-defense lasers, fall out of the sky from a EMP burst. What have you.

Come up with something else. A plot to turn crime syndicates against the Republic. Crash the Holonet. Plant spies in the GAR CoreOps center.

Oh yes... planetary defense shields.

Which makes the WHOLE MISSLE/LASER/BOMB crash. Aehhh.

But yee have a point there, unless the bomb was dropped below the shield, but still.

1. The Senate probably has about a hundred AA turrets, I'm sure Palpatine isn't THAT stupid.
2. If the "Dark Hand" group was with the CIS, they wouldn't destroy a major Republic Barracks, as the war would get shorter and Palpy's plan would get ruined.
3. If they did destroy the Senate, the war would instantly be over. Fail.
4. Why not target the Jedi Temple? I mean, that's the goal. To kill all the Jedi.

Also, Nuclear missles probably wouldn't even destroy a Star Destroyer. If it can't destroy a Star Destroyer, it can't get through the planetary shield. However, if this was like the Superlaser, heh.

But if you want missiles, try Diamond Boron Missles, as they'd leave a pretty big mark. They're explosive, and they're mean. Even though they barely damage Capital Ships (EaW).

OK, change of plan: The Dark Hand is joined with the CIS, and they have several spies in the Jedi Temple, and they plan to blow it up. If the Jedi attempt to escape, then they will threaten to get their "Deep Informant" (A rogue senator, who will appear later in the series) to assassinate several high ranking senators. Sound better?

Sounds nice, as there actually were non-jedi guards in the Temple!

And I like the assassination idea for the corrupt senator!

Little known fact, at one time Clones even served as guards for the Jedi, these guards were subsequently re-stationed, participated in, or were slaughtered by Anakin and the 501st during Operation Nightfall. Wink Blue Arc

P.S. I was wrong, Nukes actually DO exist in the Star Wars universe, but are considered to be "Antiques", and "Inferior"

Actually up through the Empire era, in one of my books, Jedi survior Jax Pavan makes a refrence to tactical Nukes, at about 10 BBY. Smile Blue Arc
