BoatGIMP: Text Bubbles
Step 1: Create a triangular shape with the paths tool, select the region (hit enter).
Step 2: Fill it entirely in with your brush of choice, with your color of choice. I used white.
Step 3: Circle select, and fill in the circle like you did your triangle with the same color.
Step 4: Now I didn't like my old circle, so I used the UNDO HISTORY feature to go back to my base image. Repeated steps 1-3, and then inserted my text.
Finished product.
Enjoy .

I always make the oval first, so that I'm not restricted to where I can put it by the arrow. But this is a fair enough tutorial, considering I've never used the GIMP.

Hah! Is that scout guy beating the droid with a stick? Awesome!
Ok. Back to topic. Nice tutorial, but in MS Paint I like to make my text first in a second paint window, see how big it is, then make the text bubble in the first paint window with the picture in it, paste the text, and then make the little triangle thingy to the person speaking.

- Take the selection tool (Shortcut: Press "B") and make a triangle, with the vertice right next to the head. Press selection from path.
- Take the paintbrush tool (Shortcut: Press "P") and change the color to white. Fill in the triangle.
- Take the ellipse tool (Shortcut: Press "E") and make an oval. Make sure the oval is in contact with the triangle.
- Take the paintbrush tool (Shortcut: Press "P") and change the color to white. Fill in the oval.
- Take the text tool (Shortcut: Press "T") and change the color to black. You can change the font size and font. Type away.

Re: BoatGIMP: Text Bubbles
I might want to object... it's so much easier to draw the "bubble" with the ellipse tool first...
Re: BoatGIMP: Text Bubbles
True. But it really doesn't matter which one you do first.
