MB-11 Scrap Droid

Post by legorevolution on Tue Jan 27, 2009 4:05 am

The MB-11 Scrap Droid was designed by the Galactic Republic shortly after the Trade Federation's invasion of Naboo and the aftermath of the Battle of Grassy Plains. As the Trade Federation fled they left behind vast scrap piles of unused and broken B1 Battle Droids, which had be cleaned up. As the Clone Wars erupted and the CIS produced millions of new droid units, battles often ended up with thousands of broken, battered, and useless droids littering the battlefield. Intent on restoring planets back to their normal states, the Republic then proceeded to mass-produce the MB-11 Scrap Droid which would collect broken battle droids units after battles. The MB-11 had four repulsorlift engines located on the bottom, and two arms which could pick up droid units and place them in a belly compartment located near the bottom of its torso. Once the compartment was filled, the scrap would be hauled off and shipped to a drive yard where parts could be broken down and used for Republic Hardware.

The repulsorlift engines.

Dang....

Looks like we have a winner! The whole idea is awesome, and you executed it wonderfully!

But it seems you have to press a tad harder on your bricks... Wink

Thanks guys- you know I'm getting pretty tired of kicking your @sses! Wink

Thunder though it may look unstable/gapy I can guarantee it is a sturdy design! New bottom pic uploaded- that's the keystone piece that makes it all fit nice Smile

HAHA I love it. It looks efficient yet borderline cute and goofy. I think it should have replaced jar jar as comic relief.... but not like he is to hard to beat Razz

Hmm I guess he could look goofy but I was shooting for a little retro-robot look, as well as masculine. I do think he's a cute droid though, it was a fun and easy build.

I still think he looks like a goofball, but in the future robots don't actually look like much they are basically floating balls of energy with the ability to do most anything because they have the ability to morph at space time continuum, and they also have tractor beams

Lego-Rev... yer brilliant. I'm not sure what else to say. While it does look like something out of a 60's Sci-Fi film, the design techniques you used are pretty damned impressive!

Geonosis was a huge battle. Over 100,000 troopers in the battle, and over a million battle droids. Republic owned them, but it was still a huge battle. It was over a droid foundry! Of course it would be well protected.

great job by the way Legorev!

It wasn't a huge battle....Almost the ENTIRE droid army was in that battle along with the ENTIRE grand army it was probably one of the largest "engagements" in the entire war. Roll Eyes Laughing

Wow, I never thought anyone had done this before, thanks for sharing but this is completely different. That vehicle is not Clone Wars or Republic Oriented (colored) in my opinion as I think mine kind of is.

Thanks for all the comments so far guys, and I thought it was a great idea- and very possible! My influence on the creation of this moc ironically actually do include the iron giant, the mustafar lava droids, and the clone wars med-droid. Smile
