Shreddin The Gnar: A Longboarding Vignette
This is a vignette I made for the vignette contest during the AZLUG February meeting. Unfortunately I was late to the meeting because of practice so my entry never really mattered- it was still a fun build though. It depicts me shreddin the gnar hard on my longboard down a cliffside road here in AZ. This was the first time I used the slanted technique as well as the road technique.
The board was my own design and looks similar to the board I actually ride.
Got my big lime gumball wheels, ready to hit the streets. This wave breaks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and I love to shred it. Hang loose guppies.

Nice... Perfect Az plants, a nice board.. Slanted road... full of win! So you longboard? My cousins do to... I'll look into it.
Oh, BTW I go to Az every year for family stuff... and You nailed that cactus sir.

Thanks guys I got the cactus idea off of someone on flickr, it is so brilliant. I was pretty pleased as usual with what it turned out to be. This is my third non Star Wars moc I've had (in the new age).

Looks awesome! Especially like the road; but is the board meant to be that large?

That really looks awesome - so much detail in so little place.

The slanted road and the rocks give this MOC some very nice perspectives. I like the detail you put into this.
Re: Shreddin The Gnar: A Longboarding Vignette
This might be an odd little coment but : Too much details.
It makes it hard to focus on.

THis is a nice build and the road looks REALLY good. THe only thing is that I think the board is a bit too wide. I do think this is a very good build though.

Amazing Revo.
Although I somewhat agree that the detail is a little... distracting it's still very nice.
great tiny sloped SNOT road too.
All in all pretty great, and good little thrown-together fig for the shredder. (I'm guessing you)
I need me some gum ball wheels, my original ones are wearing out fast. BTW what kind of deck and trucks do you have? :spammers:

Thanks for all the comments guys! Yep I love building rocky mocs, though they do seem to take forever. Astor, too much detail? Nonsense! There can never be too much detail! I'm obsessed with detail and cramming as much of it possible into every nook and cranny in my mocs!
Thanks Fjords! Yeah the fig is me, and I don't really have a lot of torsos that would fit the rediculous longboarding outfits I wear, so I just threw together a vest. I do however wear knee, elbow pads, along with my helmet and sliding gloves. Ironically I've never fallen in the 3 years I've been boarding, so I kinda figured it'll happen soon so I might as well start wearing pads. I'm going to get a new loaded deck soon because the board I have now, the Goddess by sector 9 I believe, started warping. I use Tracker trucks and actually am about to throw some new ABEC wheels on. /off topic rant.

Re: Shreddin The Gnar: A Longboarding Vignette
You knoe Rev, if you are this good at making a small boarding MOC, you should make like a huge skate park.

Yep, pretty much I spend hours on my mocs. This one took me like 3 total...
Gerrard- It would be an interesting idea since TLC hasn't done it before, but I've never been to a skatepark. I just board, so I'm not sure exactly how to do the pipes and drop ins. That would be a cool project though.
Re: Shreddin The Gnar: A Longboarding Vignette
Very nice, I think that you captured the long-board design perfectly!
