Clone Sniper Unit
Here he is, the Clone Sniper Unit. A Gunship could quickly drop this unit off at the target, kill the enemy with his powerful sniper rifle, and for other "trouble" he also has a small blaster. His visor is unique, not only giving his head extra armour, but also allowing him night vision and zooming in on a target, 3kilometers (1 mile is about 1,6km, you do the math!) away.

What do you think? (he is completely purist)

Re: Clone Sniper Unit
You finally got in the Guild!
Looks good! The blast shield is pretty nice (even if it has been used before) and the fig is pretty good for purist!

Education is boring. Still I say the blast sheild is a good idea for troops.Thunder-blade wrote:

You honestly don't know what a kilometer is....dumb Americans with their old fashioned crappy basic system...don't even know what the metric system is...WAIT! I'M an American...I think I'll shut up now...
ANYWAYS, I like it a lot! The use of the blast shield is a nice touch! And nice little blaster ya got thar!

Re: Clone Sniper Unit
Not bad for purist. Though I agree with gerrard the different colers have to go.

What's wrong with the different colours ? I think dark red and black have always fit together!
Re: Clone Sniper Unit
It might work if you make them on the same side. I do that and it looks cool, but doing them opposite like that just looks odd.
Re: Clone Sniper Unit
Do you have an acount on youtube, and is your user name PhiMa333? Nice work!

Dude, being a purist isn't easy. You can't just scribble all over your clones and call them good.

Yeah, what DY said.
Oh, and it looks like someone's being a bonehead again. I believe... Yes, that was what you were banned for previously. <_< >_>

Re: Clone Sniper Unit
How am I being dumb? There's nothing wrong with being a purist, its just like being stuck in a box, without many possibilities. But when you become a modder, you step outside the box, and there are endless possibilities. I only meant that it was good for a purist fig, but if it were a modded fig, it could be even better. You see what I'm saying here? If it were a modded one, it could have leg decals, or decals on that visor thing, or the arms and legs could have black/red markings, rather than a solid color. I don't want to start another conflict or war, I just want purists to see what limitations they have. OK?
That's my rant for today. And 80, that's not what I was banned for.

Re: Clone Sniper Unit
First of all, we modders aren't in a war against purists!!
Second of all, that is too short for a rant!

Re: Clone Sniper Unit
You've angered my inner purist.
That's no rant.
THIS is a rant.
OK, first of all once you mod something you can NEVER go back(except in some extremely rare circumstances); not only do you have to purchase additional units to mod you also have to purchase supplies. Second of all, you have to have a good hand at modding in order to make a good mod. Third of all, in the land of applying stickers, you need to buy hard to find single colored torsos on Bricklink or eBay(rarely on eBay though) and if you apply one, just one sticker wrong, you have to print a second copy because the stickum will be severely weakened by the mishap-ridden appliance. Fourth of all, in order to be a truly good modder you must attain perfection. If you don't attain perfection in your modding your modding is no good. If you don't do everything exactly right the FIRST time you fail. Whereas with using regular bricks you can always change what you do. It's easy enough to get multiple clone torsos with battle packs and such, and if you believe in arm-popping and want to get colored arms you can always purchase some online if you want to, and I for one don't endorse arm-popping. Really, modding is clearly more expensive, requires a perfectionist's attitude and skill, and is irreversible when compared to the wonders of reversible purist Legos!
You compare purism to being in a box. Inside a box, you have walls to remind yourself of what you're trying to do. With a limitless mod-world you have no limits. Thus you are entirely on your own, and have no help from the original product. Inside a box you know you have to stop somewhere. You ALWAYS must stop somewhere; lest you lose your balance and haplessly fall head over heels up into the gravity-lacking sky of modifying. I'd much rather be in a box than outside of a box. Should I find myself outside of a box doing something I greatly enjoy, I shall grow tired of the limitless world of moding and I will try to go inside the box. Once I find myself inside the box I will realize that this is not nearly as fun as modding. Thus, I personally would rather content myself with the simple pleasures of Lego MOCing and remain a purist so as not to discover a 'higher art' that is modding.

Guys, I am a purist because partly what 80-0 said. I would never harm any of my lego bricks, and so I will never leave the purist alliance. And that thing you wrote about purists inside a box and modders outside, you completely copied from someone. It's harder to be a purist than a modder, seeing as we have limits. And for purists it's not hard to be perfect.

Nah, we already had a war. Just show them up with every purist MOC you make and prove you can pwn their work.
