I have a Rex keychain, and I am attemping to convert it into a normal Rex. I have tried Count's technique, but even my dad, who has got the strenght of me X10 can't do it. Are there any alternates?

There's a way of doing it in the decals & Techniques area. I'll see if I can find it.

Hmm, just found the thread, and that also uses the count technique. Apparently, the new keychains are stronger, and for that reason the technique does not work.

What I did, is simply cut off the top part with some pliers (I have a complete blackout on how to spell that at the moment)

For what it's worth, here's my needlessly complicated method:

I freed my Ahsoka keychains (don't ask) by rigging up a contraption with a vice and a giant paperclip. Our vice has wooden pads on the inside that stick out a bit at the top, so I drilled a little hole through the pads, threaded the pulled-out paperclip through and secured one end to a pad, one end through the minifig loop (the minifig should be resting against the pad, with the pin inside the drilled hole). Then I undid the vice, making it wider and wider, until the pin popped out. Did you get all of that, or do I need to draw a diagram? Wink

Yea, I just saw off the upper piece of the pin and then paint it. I did this at a Royal Guard, Snowtrooper and now CW Count Dooku.
I don't really care if you can dissemble them, it's the fig itself that counts.
