My modded ISD
Here is my modded ISD, I didn't really like the interior set up as it was way too divided. And I loved the idea of making it hold the Imperial Dropship which I also had to modify to make fit. So here is the final product:
From the outside there is no visible difference, which is the point:
I added mounts for the other two Turbo Lasers LEGO forgot to include on each side, but havn't yet allocated all the pieces to make the actual cannons yet:
And the engines, I changed the structure here to make it more "filled in", plus I added the red pegs to help better support the bridge structure:
I also re-did the underside, becasue originally it was totally lacking in detail, and since this ship hangs from my ceiling, and for movie making purposes it needed to be detailed. The shield dome is still WIP, but the basic shape and structure are there:
Both the dropship and escape pod sit within the ship when it is closed, and the escape pod's "Launch" function still works as well:
Here is the view without the dropship or escape pod, I had to elongate the hold in order for everything to fit:
When in place the dropship locks into this little holder, preventing it from falling out. The dropship also had to be modified. It had to be narrowed to be only 6 studs wide, and the troop platform had to be strengthened, the dropship will be posted seperaly in its own thread:
This is a good view of the passagways I added, linking the hold to the rest of the deck:
The overall layout of the deck I decided to keep original on this ship, even though most of the features here were charactersitic of the Star Dreadnaught Executer, I decided that this will be Darth Vaders first flagship instead. I have two ISDs ad the second one will have a custom deck layout:
Here's a view with the dropship in place, and the hull panels closed:
And finally, I modified the support structure under the bridge, because oiginally the bridge sags backward slightly, which diminished from the great look of this ship, so I corrected for it with the structure so that now the bridge sits prominently and does not sag:
As always questions and comments are always appreciated.

This is looking very nice! Now make some more details (on the sides etc.)!

Re: My modded ISD
This is one of the best ISd mods I have ever seen. I like how you added the dropship and got rid of that big "wall". The way you made the bridge not sag was very clever. Over all I really like this. One think I would do is take out the pod and maybe make some probedroids for it to hold.

Yeah I agree, like on the UCS version, lots of detail! I'll think about that.

Re: My modded ISD
Alright, good job on modding the ISD! Haven't seen anyone do that before. And it always looked pretty unstable, but I'm guessing you changed that.
Re: My modded ISD
I forgot to say how much I like the fact that you placed both the dropship and escape pod in, and still had enough room for figs.

Yeah TB, the new one is going to be put on Weight Watchers by me, you can COUNT on it. And thanks DP, I like playability, and try to retain as much as possible, without sacrificing accuracy.

Why on earth would you buy that piece of crap? It even has flick fire missiles. Strange how they always manage to include those deathsticks... They even put BOMBS on it. Bombs and a capital ship...that won't work at all. But, if you can get it to the right size, props to you, man. Props to you.

Capitol ships DID have bomb like things, except that they were mines and could be deployed in space. And the only reason I'm getting it, is it's a good place to start for creating a really good Venator, I usually start my MODs or MOCs off a set that already has most of the pieces I'm going to need included, saves diggin through the endless brick bins.

Re: My modded ISD
Wow! Totally on a modding run! I really like the new interior of the ISD, and I can't believe you fixed it to hold the dropship. What set did that holocron of Palpy come in?

Amazing job ABL, I love how you were able to add the dropship and still keep the escape pod.
