Republic Base(completed from WIP)

First off, be sure to check out the WIP of this base to give a comparative review.

Now the pics:

(move! move! move!)

(note the defense cannons and their blast shields; pardon the crate)

(command center)

(holotable; dusty bricks!)

(main computer; ladder for boarding gunship)

(yes, that's a bald Jedi)

(a common military sight: the fuel crew rushing away from the lander, and clones boarding)

(a clone squad entering the larty hatch)

(gunners in waiting)

(sniper in waiting)

(scout in waiting)

So overall, this legion/corps/whatever has 12 troopers, a sniper, a scout, two gunners, two Captains, a Jedi, and two pilots.

Any takers?

Well I like it 80-0. The main thing I like is the holotable to fuel crew and the area the gunners are in. Just dust them bricks off and make it bigger.

I agree with Bizzle, overall nice job!

So basically the only thing you like about this MOC in particular is the holotable?

Yes, it has 4 main colors, which is too much.

So were I to transplant this to a giant grey baseplate would all be right with the world?

I wasn't even talking about the baseplate. I mean, it has light grey, dark grey, dark red, black AND a green baseplate. Get rid of the green and black, and use dark red on a few place here and there, just not 1 room which explodes with dark red.

Alright, I think it looks OK. It still needs a bit of work though. It's a bit plain besides the control room and gunship boarding point. You need like an arms room, and a room where the clones sleep, a mess hall, etc. And how do the clones get in the front? I only see two big, but nice, guns.

They don't get in the front; they get in and out the back where the gunship is. Doesn't that at least remotely make sense?

Yes, I already am fitting the arms room. It's between the gunner stations where that studless slab is located.

The bunk-room will be an addition to the base on the whole; I'm going to take a lt. grey baseplate, put it on the side, make a door on the semi-SNOT wall, and insert the bunks. It'll either be roofless for the sake of pictures or I'll make an easily removable roof.

Dude I didn;t even see those massive guns the first time. They are awesome. I want to know how to make them.


Ya know for barracks you could use the pre fab shelter you made. Make some more of those and a ship to drop them off.

One last thing: Why are some of the clones getting in the top of the gunship?

I don't have that shelter built anymore... Good idea though.

As for the guns, I'll post instructions when I post the next addition to the base(in a shiny new topic too!).

Well, why didn't you remove the speeder part and put in some plates to have more standing room for the clones?

Because it makes sense to have a speeder? Besides that it kinda kills the necessity of a rear drop-down hatch.

Personally I think you did a great job with what I saw at the WIP. I really liked those guns out in front. The only main thing I had a problem with was that you should try to use more Republic colors next time (Dark red/White). Also grab a paint brush and dust of those legos!

Oohh... Love those cannons! And the scene of the clones boarding is well depicted too. Nice job!

Maybe I can attempt to rally all my white plates and merely stack them on the black plates for a more camoflaged appearance.

The outer walls could use some more detail, but it is a nice base overall!

That little artwork ditty is nowhere from final; I fully intend to make it a serious loopholed barricade.
