AT-ARW

Post by PhiMa on Sat May 09, 2009 5:32 pm

The All Terrain Armoured Recon Walker was a more advanced type of the AT-RT. Used for Recon objective, this Walker would get it's two pilots to the destination point safely and quickly. Due to being heavily armoured, it's not quite as fast as an AT-RT. With two rapid firing cannons on the left and right, and a dual anti-infantry gun under it's belly, this Walker would give great support along the front lines of a battlefield.

I apologize beforehand for mixing grays, and having those white bits inbetween. I was having trouble coming up with a walker yesterday, and then I got this, I used a few pieces from various battlepacks, and some exo-force sets.

Overall shot:

Closer look at the leg:

The cockpit:

The Anti-Infantry guns:

And finally, the crew:

The brown shoulder pieces are called epaulettes and were originally from the old Pirates line. I like the walker, one of the few small walkers that uses a windscreen. Looks good even with the color variation.

Nice, although the windshield doesn't really look right with the body design.

The legs look a little fat, but the feet offered a good design with the slopes but my question is how stable is it? Wink The cockpit was a good concept but I felt like those diagonal pieces on the sides made it look a little crammed and such. Perhaps you could add some greebles and small slopes on it just to make it look a little wider. The guns underneath were good though! I liked the technic at the end. Also the clones were pretty cool with the green arms and brown pauldrons Smile

Brilliant design, colors function as they should (I can get over the strategic placing of the old greys in this one) and brilliant spacing of the weapons. My only complaint is the clone's shoulder pauldrons (I hate those), but that is easily ignored Wink .

I just think the dark red looks out of place; maybe go for dark green; try and get it in line with your troopers' armor. Wink

Replying to different posts:

@DP: Had to have a windshield.

@C_G: Wasn't thinking of WH 40K, just built it from the ground up.

@LegoRev: It's supposed to be fat, due to heavy armouring. But....it's quite unstable. It can hold it's self up, but not on all types of floor...

@NotAWatercraft: Why, thank you.

@80-0: Don't have much dark green....so it'd be hard, but it would look good.

I like the design of it but I think that there are too many colors. I like the guns though and you executed it pretty well.

This is a cool walker. It looks really buff and I'm sure it could pwn-a-lot(of droids). I especially like the feet and the windshield placement. Smile

Good work! I like the customs, old school pauldrons, yet so fitting. Anyway the walkers nice, u should make some improvements to the guns underneath and the leg joints look a little 'visible' but other then those it looks good! Smile
