CIS Provider-Class Transport

Post by Captain Rocky on Tue May 12, 2009 3:29 am

So this is my first post Wink
It is called the Provider-Class Transport, and it is a troop and vehicle transport.

Info
Top Speed: 2000 G
Length: 900 m
Width: 180 m
Height: 240 m
Armament: 6 Heavy Turbolaser Cannon batteries, 2 Heavy Proton Torpedo launchers, 2 Dual Heavy Turbolaser batteries, 64 Light Point-Defense Laser cannons
Cargo Capacity: 60 AATs, 12 MTTs, 60 Homing Spider Droids, 96,000 B1 Battle Droids (folded), 48,000 B2 Super Battle Droids

DataBank Entry:
Info: The Provider-Class Transport was a capital warship used by the CIS for transport of infantry and ground vehicles. They did not have the capability of carrying starfighters within them, so they relied on Providence-Class carriers to escort them with starfighters. The Provider-class did, however, possess a pair of powerful heavy proton torpedo launchers, useful against enemy capital ships, making it infamous as a capital ship destroyer as well.

Bad pic of the left side.

Right-side view.

Rear view.

Front view.

Front turbolaser batteries and shield generator (the 'cheese' wedges are the shield generator).

Front right-side plating.

Heavy Proton Torpedo launcher and docking port (the blue piece is the docking port).

Blue stripe and turbolaser batteries.

Bridge, CIS logo, and dual heavy laser cannon battery.

Rear-side plating.

Engines. The gap above the upside-down slope piece with the two gray pieces is the hyperdrive.

Beware the mechanical droid armies of the CIS!!

Well, there you go, my CIS ship, as requested. If you think the cargo capacity is a bit too big, you are wrong. I did the math. The excruciatingly boring math that really isn't neccessary that nobody would really care about anyway.

ALSO: Go CIS!!! Droid

Welcome aboard! I like the detail you put into it. The bridge, turbo laser batteries, shield generator. On top of that it's a good design. It's not full of studs so its sleek and all the angles you used are great. Next time though, try to only post 3-4 pics and then provide a link to the gallery of photos. Instead you have a really long page of photos we don't have the need to see.

Oh and this is the CLONE army builders guild so that means the CIS naturally suck! (just kidding its fine) Wink

Actually Muffin you don't have to do that at all. It's only required here. We don't like clicking through laggy image sites like Flickr and MOCpages. Razz

Good MOC; the only bout I have with it is the old grey/new grey.

This is intentionally a mini, right? If so I wouldn't go around calling it a transport. Wink

Mixed the grays a bit but it is a really good first post. Detail and greebling are nice, and it is great for a miniscale!

Some of the parts look thrown together and mixed. You're probably not going to see that on a CIS warship. I still like this mini and you have inspired me to build one.

Welcome Rocky, welcome to my evil lair! <Insert stereotypical evil Separatist laughing from Clone Wars TV series here>

I don't think I ever mentioned how happy I was that this is named "Provider-class" instead of something else. Nice counter to all the goody two-shoes Republic ship type names. Together we can lay mini-seige to this site and take it for the CIS!

Now, to school to battle my allergies!

Don't mix greys. Other than that it's pretty cool, thouhg the middle part isn't as sleek as the est of the ship.

Great ship, but one of the coolest, and must unique, features you have on there is the door at the bottom for the deployment. Most of the time the CIS just used C-9979 Landing Craft, but this is a cool feature and it makes a difference in the MOC for the better. Smile

Really nice MOC, but in some places it seems like the slants are too abruptly stopped, and started again with a different angle. It is really sweet though, and I expect more great MOCs from you! Smile

To tell you the truth, I actually can't tell the difference between the new and old grays. I'm torn between these two emoticons: Laughing and Embarassed
