327th Star Corps Heavy Trooper
My first ATTEMPT at painting a helmet, please keep that in mind, I am also decaling a Bly and Airbourne trooper at the moment, both for my 327th, they should be done soon. And no, I didn't make the pauldron, if I did I would have been selling them by now. I did if fact do it freehand, no tape used.
Armed with a XT-99 Tanksmasher rocket launcher, a Homing Spider Droid was no match for this trooper.
The back of the helmet was hard to paint, but I am getting better.
Any comment is welcome, compliment or constructive critisism.

I have to say, you painted it quite well for a first attempt! Did you cordon off the white areas using precison-cut painters tape, or something? Or was it freehand?
Re: 327th Star Corps Heavy Trooper
It looks like he used it w/ free handed it looks like.

Looks pretty good for a first attempt! Did you make that pauldron?
Re: 327th Star Corps Heavy Trooper
Don't you mean 327th Star Corps (since your using Bly)?
I doubt he used tape, it looks very free hand to me. It's okay for a first attempt
I find that Arealight's helmets are terrible to paint on -they're so smooth the paint almost peels off as soon as you touch it, no matter how dry it is - but you can use that to your advantage to scratch off any unwanted paint.

I had that problem with the paint peeling off, the grey cheek areas are about 3 layers of paint.

MBK, stop spamming. You can pm him if you want to ask him something. (Apologies Admins & Mods, I couldn't stand it any longer.)
Onto the fig, looks pretty good right now, the helmets a bit messy, but that's probably cause you freehanded it. The rocket launchers quite nice, and where did you get that pauldron?
Like Mikezulu said, you probably meant the 327th Star Corps.

I got the pauldron form ebay, he has stopped selling, its a shame really, they were really good, and at a very good price.
Re: 327th Star Corps Heavy Trooper
What are the pauldrons mader of? Except that they look nothing like the original, it does look some kind of special material. Any idea what it is?

Re: 327th Star Corps Heavy Trooper
Awesome LP! The paint looks uneven at times but it is not that noticeable. Very nicely done.
Re: 327th Star Corps Heavy Trooper
I would say to add a kama (waistcape). Because in SWBF2 the Heavy Troopers wore kamas, as did the 327th Star Corps.
WHAT????
Where the crud did you get those sick helmets?? You should've shown a Wiki-Link to what the Rocket Launcher really looked like in StarWars. Unless, you made it up...

Your face is kind of messy, but did your parents use decals?!Superperson wrote:Kind of messy. You should use decals.
Seriousy, get over the fact the paint might be messy! It's by no means an easy task or an easy medium to work with, and I really like this! I had the same problem your having with the cheeks on the TGL visors, the paint peels off, The line at the back needs work. May i ask what brush and paint you use? The paint i use is easy to wipe off (if it's still wet) so you can fix mistakes. I can't wait to see the final thing.
Overall 8/10
