WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
I spent several hours today building this, first a multi-coloured prototype version, messing around with different designs, and then made one in complete gray (mixed). Then we lost power for a few hours and I decided to make this one pure grey - in candlelight. I know some of it is still mixed, but I'm sorry that I don't have those pieces. I'm quite pleased with the outcome, and think it looks quite good. Please tell me what you think.
And don't forget to check out the Flickr Set!
Built using Houndmasters Instructions and then adding modifications from BrickMania and the RoA. Credit goes to them.
Well, as said, I spent a lot of time on this, so comments would be very highly appreciated. And tell me how to improve it, I'll have this baby built together for a while. Oh, and mixed grays, ya-de-ya-de-ya....

Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Since I'm no big WWII freak I can't really help you, to me it just looks like any other WWII jeep you'll find here on the LEGO web.
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
I think it's a great design except for the sides of the hood... Too many studs.

Yeah, change those studs to tiles and then it will be perfect! I just started on my Willy's jeep on Thursday... Yours is waaaaayy better.
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Jens: A week ago I also wouldn't have known the difference.
DY & 667: I've still got some 4x1 Tiles lying around, I can change that.
667: I found some instructions on Flickr and modded it to my liking, you want me to PM them to you?

Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Definantly. It would make it a lot better.
But overall this is a very nice jeep. I think that the gun looks very good on here and overall well done. I haven't seen many WWII MOC's here but I really like this one.

Are they the instructions from Hound Knight? If they are, I already have seen them, but if not, MAIL AWAY!

Yeah...instructions from Hound Knight...from then on I modified it.
And I've also just replaced the 4x1 Plates with 4x1 Tiles, and you were right, does look better
Thanks for all the comments so far guys!
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
This is lookin pretty good man. I'm actually in the process of building a WWII-esce moc and may base a jeep design off of this. The gun up top is what makes it for me.
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
UPDATE!
Due to suggestions I've changed the 4x1 Plate pieces on the front to 4x1 Tile pieces.
I've also changed a pieces at the back, the 2x1 Tile is now more secure and the jeep is basically pure grey.
And I've added two black hands as Windshield wipers to the front windshield:
All comments so far appreciated! More comments will also be!
@Revo: Yes, the gun design I got from RoA.

Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Yeah, Phima, I would love a iece list! Also, on Flickr you used "Houndmaster's" instructions, could I get a link to those?
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Wow, the tiles make it looks so much better! Who knew that a couple of pieces could make such a difference!
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Thanks for the comments guys! DP, I can work on taking the Jeep apart into it's mainframe and give you shots from that, and I'll try a pieces list. Don't want to take my Willy apart though...
CT, It's actually 'Hound Knights' Instruction list, you'll find it in the WWII Lego Flickr Group.

Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
Alright, just laid out all the pieces on my Background and took pictures, I'm going to then make a tutorial video and upload them both to Flickr later.
EDIT: I've uploaded the piece list. You'll find them in this Flickr Set. Read the description please. Instructions video has also been 'filmed' and I'll probably upload it later.

Great job, PhiMa!
You gave your Jeep a realistic WWII feel.
Keep up the good work.

Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
MmmmMmmmMmmm! I'm simply loving that M1919 Browning machine gun mounted up top. The rest of the vehicle is innovative, and splendidly smooth... however, you did build it off of someone else's MOC, so I really shouldn't give all the credit to you .
Re: WWII Willys Jeep *Update*
And, DP's about to go on a loving spree.
Here is the instruction Video On Flickr. Remember to check out the piece list before hand, and give credit afterwards! (Even though I used three different designs...)
