Space Racers

Post by Halen on Sun Jun 21, 2009 2:13 am

A quick moc I did this morning while my daughter was taking a nap. Hopefully the first in a series of teams in the InterSol System Race Circuit.

That looks good, Halen. I don't like the front, but the back slanted wings are cool. From what I can see of the driver, he looks good too.

I like the front AND the back AND the fig. Two things, though, bother me:

1. The eight studs on each of the grey boosters which hold the 'wings' detract from the model.

2. The six studs behind the cockpit area of purely black brickage also leave a hole.

Sweet, I love the angled engines. The front however isn't as sleek as the rest.

Cool design (the whole InterSol System Race Circuit background is an interesting idea in general].

I second the design tips of 80-0. The racers should emblematize speed and smoothness, and those visible studs aren't helping.

You did a great job nonetheless.

Do you have a basic design for future racers in mind or will there be lots of different design styles?

I really like the engines, try adding a few more tiles to the front though, so that way it makes it look a bit mores sleeker, the front black plates sticking out like that I am not a fan of, but if positioned them going back, then I think it would look better. Pretty well done though!

Thanks everyone for your C&C. I'll take your comments into consideration when I build my next racer.
@ Vimes: The basic design I think I'll keep is the titled engines with the wings in back, the fronts will be where the teams individuality comes across.

Yay Aquasharks! Do you have the canopy from the Barracuda, Dart, or Sea Wolf? Rejigging the design to make that fit would look unbelievably awesome. Nice racer, many of the niggles have already been voiced.

Yeah I have the old windscreens from all three of those actually but they are all pretty nicked/scratched up. Sad
