You did a very good job. I really like your droid creation, K-2. He's very cool. The GIMPing is of course awesome, though if each comic would further the story just a little more, that would be good.

I know that you need a few blew blam comics, to appease the littlun's, but if they could tell more, further the story, that is needed. You basically wasted a whole comic on a battle that... didn't matter? The CIS attacked, and lost. There was no change in the cituation. i know this happens in real war, but hey! This isn't a real war! Make each battle count.

Just my two credits.

Aaah, well that's what I'm referring to.

I did my best to squeeze some nuggets of characterization into the plot, get Alexis closer to Turaki and Ied, and fight all the same. The next comic will be the conclusion of the battle (this was the opening move - I'll just timelapse through a little), Alexis being made an important character, and the beginning of the end. Cuipernam's going to be a Caen of sorts. However before it's attacked, I'm planning on doing occupation stories to bring Merc chick back into the fray.

Having to read it twice is not a good thing - it means something's gone wrong somewhere. Why not just write his lines normally and tell us what the real-world equivalent of his accent is (my money's on Scottish)? It would let people hear the accent in their own head without having to read your very, very rough approximation of it. Although, seeing as it's irrelevant to the plot and doesn't seem to add anything at all to the comic, I'd prefer to see it gone entirely. I mean, it's become a cliché for a clone to be 'overcooked' just so they can be all individual - they're clones, that's not the point! Razz

Anyway, this comic was alright. Better than the bad ones, but it didn't really advance the plot much. Get Merc Chick to do some more in future, she seems more interesting than the rest of this Equinox bunch put together. I do like that crazy droid, though - might stick around just for that. Wink

Is it? I'd rather something go wrong and them cock their heads, than have people just flip through it so that they can see the shiny GIMP Razz . Most people, if I didn't try my hand at that rough approximation, would just smack on whatever accent they themselves have. And it's a good cliche, thank you very much Wink .

No it didn't, but I tried a little as I told Zeph. Chick will be getting screen time once this is over and the 541st nurses her wounds. K-2 was something I just had to put in - as he's eccentric, and could function as a Greek Chorus.

These are the comments I look forward to Wink ! Thanks for your feedback.

And what's wrong with that? It's good enough for your other characters, including Turaki - there have been subtle (and not-so-subtle Razz ) hints that he has an upper-class English accent, but his lines are written normally.

I haven't yet determined what cues would make a Scot stand out Wink . With a lot of accents, it comes down to the inflection of individual words. Slang often associated with one accent over another is difficult. "Bloody" may be universal, but most other idioms are based on an object or happening in the speaker's culture.

I'll have to see what I can do Razz .

I agree, I bit my tongue when I tried to say the lines! Razz
Back on topic, it's a decent comic. The cliff is nicely built. But I find the 13th pic somewhat disturbing.

Yes, so did I, but I think it is just a result of my dirty mind. Laughing But back on topic, the comic was great, especially the scene where thet are standing on the cliff looking down at the battle - magnificent. Also, I reckon the accent we're talking about is a very thick London accent, it just seems to fit, but I also see a scottish accent fitting.

Jinja. Jeez. You couldn't leave one good comment? It's annoying to have a slew of bad things thrown at you, without one good thing. You couldn't have throw in something nice? There's got to be at least one or two good things in this comic.

And, for the second time in my life, I wish I hadn't gotten the Roll Eyes smilie taken away.

Zeph, don't fret about it Wink . I'd rather he tell me all that's wrong, than all that's right. Multiple perspectives help in making better MOC's, and his is just one of many. A healthy dose of negativity isn't all too terrible, either Razz.

You.

Derive? Derive means that the indirect object is a result, product, or a relative of the object. To take or receive from something. I don't think you can use an intransitive verb that way, either.

Object ------------------------ Indirect Object
Potato chips are a derivative of a starchy tuber.

You just made a total word choice failure Wink .

Proper uses:

Derivative derives from the verb derive.
Derivative is a derivative of derive.
This conversation was derived from the discussion of the CABG's Meanie MacMeainies.
This conversation is a derivative of several previous off-topic discussions.

Besides, you probably meant deviate: "Sorry to deviate from the...." .

So... before we all get a nice ban, could we get back on topic Razz ?

Durasteel ablative plates. They're supposed to be wearing black, blaster-dissipating fabric balaclavas with a tinted pair of goggles which contain all the features of a helmet HUD on their interior. Tactical earpiece and mouthpiece for communication. The plate protects the top and back of the head.

Oh, yes! Attachment.

A little spot of hot glue in the stud on the top of the black head, and it's secured. It's got a firm grip, adequate for medium-hard play, and immune to the rigors of posing. You can remove it with a quick and deliberate twist of the plate. To replace it, simply peel off the old hot glue (it comes off fairly easily), put a new drop on, and she's good to go Wink .

That droid is rounding out to be a Smeagol/Jar Jar-esque figure. Laughing

Ah well, another intriguing comic! These really ought to be published: what makes them so realistic(comic-wise, that is) is that you always go from scene to scene, from storyline to storyline.
