541st Airborne Division
541st Airborne Division
This 200 man division was the brainchild of Col. Turaki Kaier. Finding the role of the Republic commando not quite suited to his Legion's modus operandi, Kaier decided that he'd - once again - take matters into his own hands. The 541st specializing in lightning armored strikes, needed to combine their arms carefully. This was done flawlessly with the implementation of Armored Elite units to augment the TX-130/c's and their Skirmisher Infantry units. However, combining air superiority with cavalry and infantry was much more challenging. Kaier figured that if he could procure a robust air-to-ground weapons platform, specializing in heavy ordnance, with well trained teams of less-than-SpecOps men, he'd be able to fill the niche in the 541st which had remained hithereto empty. The Airborne's role was to soften up enemy targets prior to the main body's arrival - destroying anti-tank emplacements and disrupting the enemy's order of battle - while providing heavy anti-infantry and anti-vehicle fire support on the field.

Image 3: DeepStrike Operations Package unpacked. Clockwise - 4 Extra canisters of rail gun ammunition, 2 tri-light scopes, 2 grips, repulsorsled assembly, communications package, 2 magnetic grip panels, 2 folding monopods.
Image 4: Weapon combination. Mounted Railgun (mag-grip and monopod). Scoped Railgun (tri-light scope, mag-grip, extended magazine).
Image 5: More weapon combination. Repeating railgun (mag-grip, grip). Stationary Railgun (monopod, tri-light scope).
Image 6: Repulsorsled configuration.
Image 7: Optional base configuration.
Image 8: The up-gunned Striker variant of the LAMRC.
Image 9: LAMRC Striker Arsenal. Clockwise: 2 AGM-Type Bunker Busters, 2 mortar launchers, 2 dual laser cannons, 1 heavy chaingun, 4 detonite charges, 4 Fuel-Air BlueSky Missiles, 4 High Explosive BlueSky Missiles.
Image 10: Drop configuration. Airborne are tethered to a drop cable, allowing them to exit the craft cleanly and in a straight chalk.
Image 11: Drop in-progress. Tether slides out of hook once clear of craft. Package follows to the droppers' left.
Image 12: The Striker LAMRC can also deploy: 2 AT-RT Scout Walkers, 1 TX-130/c, 1 IFV, 1 Meehan-Class Deployment Pod.
Overall, it's a upgrade for my Airborne minifigs, and a upgrade and wing redesign for my LAMRC shuttle. Even though this started out as nothing more than tablescraps, I'm proud of my overhaul . It's got a lot of playability in it, as well. The magnetic grips on the LAMRC do work, so if I ever felt like it, I can fly in another one of my MOCs without risk of it smashing onto the floor . Who needs that stinking LAAT/c anyways !

Re: 541st Airborne Division
The Striker and its ordnance are quite well done, but I really love the DeepStrike Ops package.

I love the jetpacks and the Striker, but the windshield looks odd though.

For a bunch of table scraps this is pretty darn good. The weapons were done marvelously and i like the multiply uses of the LAMRC shuttle. When i saw the DeepStrike Operations Package I was thinking wow that would be a troopers dream to have. Really great job thumps up!

Re: 541st Airborne Division
Wow!
You weren't joking when you said you would redo them! I love that little pod, and the way the Striker can hook up to other vehicles. I need to do something like this!
Now I can't wait too see them in action!
Will the Engineers or the Armoured Elite get redone like this?

The DSOps package is nice, as is the updated LAMRC. Good job, again.
