All Purpose Attack Tank

During his visit to Kamino, Alec witnessed troopers of the 212st Legion training with STATs. Alec instantly loved it the design. Thus, he sent a custom order to weapon company TechArm's, their manager being a childhood friend of Alec. He asked for something with the capablility of the STAT, but with inceased reliability, and also being able to function as a trooper transport for regular infantry. Thus, the All Purpose Attack Tank was born.

Using the same control system as the STAT (Pilot being located at command posts/Venators). It was smaller in terms of lenght, was was taller. It's armour was capable of defecting blaster bolts, and also being able to resist mortar shells. Inside, there were four magnetic clips for the troopers to place their weapons and/or other equipment. It also had a fold down computer, which could provide mission updates, on the fly briefings, and even could communicate with other APATs, for coordinated, fluid attacks. Behind this was a small armoured window, so the troopers could at least see where they were going. There were two, smaller ones also mounted on the door. It was armed with a grand total of six meduim blaster cannons, which were specially designed for troopers to hold, so troopers could ride on the sides if the interior is full, plus a removable grenade launcher. There was a hatch right behind the grenade launcher, for troopers to cover the vehicle's rear/get a better view. For the latter, it had some macrobinoculars on a magnetic clip. The wheels were massive, being roughly as tall as a full grown man. They were also filled with a thick gel, allowing it to navigate any terrain, from smooth urban streets to harsh deserts to swamps.


It's basically my take on Tac's STAT. I worked on it for about five hours, over the course of three days. I'm personally proud of it.

Block seems to be my building style. The black and white? I stole that from Uber .

Alf makes a good point about the colors: I would leave the main color white, take out all the black, and put in some Rep red and dark grey, or light grey if you lack dark grey.

That ain't the cockpit. If you read the story, then you'd see that that is actually the gunner port .

I don't really consider republic red vehicles my cup of tea. They seem to cliched.

Wow, that's ugly. Like Alpha said, it's boxy, but it's also too tall. Tanks need a low centre of gravity, whereas this thing's just gonna topple over. Also, the eight standard, boring, thoroughly unlikeable cannon pieces you slapped on the sides make it look even more like something you'd dredge up on MOCPages. On a smaller scale, the clips on the sides don't add anything (I guess you were going for greebles there, but they don't actually have a purpose), the engine blocks up front look silly, there's no actual cockpit 'gunner port' (like 80-0 said, sniper fodder) and like others have said, the black and white contrast doesn't look at all good.

Back to the drawing board, plxthx.

Meh, I hate wheels in SW, a bit tall too.

Responding to the bold: That's exactly why those little puddle jumper econo cars don't work speeding down the highway. If you were driving one of those, or this tankish thing, at full speed then floored the breaks, you'd go flying head over heels.

In that case, what could I use for side cannons? Those cannons on the top are supposed to be for troopers to grip, so, apart from black lightsaber blades (Which I only own 1 of) what could I use? I'll try and make it shorter as well. But I'm still keeping the colour scheme.

Anything. Just browse a few groups on Flickr and look at their tanks to see how they arm them. Anything but those.

I've got it! That's how they teach clones to use shotguns. They put a droid in the gunner port, speed off the tank towards the clone, break, and the clone fires the shotgun at the droid flying through the air. Droidskeet!

Have to agree that it just looks a bit blocky and awkward, something just doesn't really make it look appealing.

Mmmhmm, I havn't used those cannon pieces in a while, make your own.

You could always add greebles, basically small 1x1s to touch up the cannon itself, 'cos it isn't a bad piece overall, but when you leave it hanging like so it just looks like a noob brick.

Hope you guys are happy, because three mocs went into building this, and I tried to follow your advice, but now it looks even more pathetic.

Guess you followed it wrong, then.

What we're saying is that the cannons look 'noobish', and the tank is too stubby. If it's gonna be that tall, attach 3 more of these, then it'll look good. Otherwise it just looks like a mobile fortified house.

Can somebody please lock this?

That looks more like a monster truck than a tank!
To make one out of those just remove the ugly cannons.
