Fallschirmjäger

Post by DarthPineapple on Tue Aug 25, 2009 4:28 pm

My latest addition to my German forces and the second to the Luftwaffe. Fallschirmjäger or Parachute hunters were the German equivalent of the Allied airborne. They were one of Hitler's elite corps and played a major role in the battle of Crete in 1941 (operation Mercury). The helmets are made out of firefighter helmets and the sticker design is by the awesome CG. Left trooper is waiting for his FG42. They didn't wear backpacks but I put them in as parachute backpacks. Here is a reference pic of their equipment and clothing: http://illiweb.com/fa/pbucket.gif

Ah they got slaughtered on Crete, nonetheless great job as always. Although the sticker is a bit too light, maybe use Microsoft Word to darken it?

That can't really be fixed since it's a sticker. It'll always be different from the torso.

Yep that can't be fixed. Actually it's a very light brown but my printer likes to mix up colors and ruin everything by making it waaay dark or just a different shade. This was one of the last stickers that looked a bit like the colors I printed them in.

Eh, I don't like the stickers very much, you really need to upgrade to decals!

Nice helms though!

Your packs, decaling, detailing, and MP-40 (although, I'd rather see them with a FG42, even if it isn't as accurate Razz) are all admirably done. However, I think you've cut just a little too much off of the helmet, and you've failed to give it that slight upwards tuck we see in the pictures.

If you would have read my post you'd know I'm giving one of them an FG42. Also I agree with you there on the right helmet, it is a little too small, but I did give them that upwards tuck thing.
