The 82nd Legion Rail Gun

Post by Bizzle on Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:25 pm

This is a table scrape I made, it is based off of the rail run from the Sci-Fi show Stargate Atlantis (which is a good show I might add). Not good, yet not bad. I made it as my legion need more MOC's plus I have't built anything for along time.

If you think this looks weird then well contact the people of Stargate Atlantis and tell them so. As this is pretty much a carbon copy of the one they have minus the legs.

Very cool.

Curved wall is a nice touch! The gun itself is pretty decent, but together they make a nice combo!

The gun is okay. Just a 1x1 with studs on four sides and some plates.

Your critique of this MOC fails.

It's much, much more than plates on sides and studs on sides.

It has 1x1s littered all over the place, and a power pack.

So:

Just a 1x1 with studs on four sides and some places with 1x1s littered all over the place, and a power pack.

NOW I'm content. Razz

While useless as a field piece, or any sort of mobile fire support unit, it's quite nice of an emplacement. Your protective fencing is uniquely done, your railgun is niftily designed. While I must protest at the blending of old and new greys - the lack thereof would make this a really good, little, MOC - and at the heavy usage of trans bricks, I still think this a worthy exemplar of good building Wink .

Thanks Sial that means alot coming from you. I would have made it all one color if, well I had all the pieces I need in one color. The trans colors are meant to be a type of light. And it wasn't meant to be mobile. It would have been intrenched around the area they want to protect.

Hey, a fellow SGA fan. Smile

I like this... Just some ideas, though: 1) The barrel could be longer, 2) I think it'd look better with just trans-red or just trans-green, 3) Reverse the light bley with the dark bley.

A big SGA fan at that. I have bought about 20 episodes. Wow this thing looks

I like your ideas about how to improve it alot. I think I might redo it and see how it turns out. I'm not sure though.

Curved wall is very nice and the rail gun is simple yet has a good design. Together they make a great combo!

Nice one! You should include instructions for it so I can build one because I need some artillery for my base. Did you use a whip to make the curve wall? I like the touch of the shiny green part.

You heard the man pdragon27 call the people from Stargate Atlantis and complain. Toasted!!! But this is a great moc although one of the bottom clips is black but overall good job. Smile Could you get up instructions or detailed pics ? Once again nice job Smile Pilot
