Redone AT-RT Empty Redone AT-RT

Post by Darth Yoda Fri Aug 21, 2009 11:34 pm

My last attempt was okay but not great.
I took it apart and have done some cool new things. You'll notice that the legs are SBD arms, and the back of the seat is a rocket launcher arm. I thought this helped the beefing up the legs without getting into too much technic stuff. The feet were taken from my AT-RT variation that I made a while back. (The two ski pieces) The legs are connected with two pistols and two clips. (The 1x1 ones) The seat is connected to the antennae and the seat isn't that special... Just some robot arms with BA gas grenades on the tips. There's a spotlight in the front and the swivel gun on the bottom. And finally a last minute change that I think is very cool are the ice-picks as controls.

Anyways, Here it is... Enjoy! Smile

Love the cockpit! The legs are a little short and a little skinny. The feet are also HUGE compared to the legs. Overall, with some improvment needed, its awesome! Good job, keep it up!

See, I envy people like you with all these nifty pieces that can fully explore the building process. Not just eke out MOCs, but really get to experiment Razz .

Another solid MOC! I'm loving the use of the icepicks, and rocket SBD arm, out of all elements employed here.

I just picked all the mech-like pieces, and Things I thought I might use and put them all in a box and started building! Razz

You guys aren't getting the scale right. Your's are all way too big. Take a look at Tekka's or Lars':

Well in that case the legs for mine are fine, I just need to make the body and feet smaller.

Thanks Btw

PD are you gonna be referring to Takka's MOCs in every thread?

srsly.

Scale doesn't really matter...it's LEGO.

Unless it's a micro AT-RT for a fig or a UCS AT-RT for a fig. Wink

I love the use of the SBD arms there, ecspecially at the back rest! Nice job, even if it is "out of proportion."

Well I wanted to make it scale and Pd is actually right...

But tekka's is in my opinion a tiny bit to well..... tiny. Razz

Yes, great usage of the SBD arms and the cheese grater slopes! Yet, like Sial's, the legs look scrawny next to the bulky body.

The body and legs are brilliantly done and the idea to use the super battle droid arms for the legs , and the seat were very creative and a nice touch to the walker.

The body looks realy nice, with the cheese graters and ice picks, the legs look to short and the feat to large but the idea of battle droid arms is good.

That's true...tekka does happen to show up in many threads.

Overall it's a good, but not huge improvement. Maybe the legs should be a bit longer, but overall, well done. Wink

Obviously. He's one of the few people who can actually build CW. Or SW in general.

EDIT: @Jens: Yes it does. But in DY's case, it is disproportionate, not a matter of scaling.

I'm still Working on it and it's going very slow. I made a nice feet design yet I can't hook them up with the SBD legs... It might take longer than previously suspected.

I freaking love this thing! BUT! I think the model looks a little "front heavy". Did you have to use something to help it stand up?

Hey think about this. How do you think TLC would feel if they knew that we think that the AT-RT they made is so awful and unproportionate that we have a billion AT-RT threads on the CABG?

Hey DY, I am hearing a lot of people commenting on how big the front is. Did you make it that big for support reasons? And By that I mean that without the front being that big, the entire MOC wouldn't work.
