999th Legion - WIP
I'm new to this - Legions, I mean - but I hope that it works. I'm finding this fun. There's a lot of stuff to be updated still, but..
Legion Name: 999th
After the war, the 999th Legion was described by one Imperial scholar as ‘Strange...to say the least. I don’t think we could have predicted their actions, considering how they began.’
The Legion was originally bred to be one of the many ‘expendable’ legions spread throughout the GAR. It far excelled these expectations in battle, however, surprising the Generals back on Coruscant. The 999th then became a Legion that was intended for the most problematic conflicts; its General was well known for his preference of democracy and negotiations.
Legion Clone Commander Synapse
Unlike many other commanders, Synapse was a pure and simple clone – but, somehow, it transpired that he skipped the conditioning that made most clones unemotional.
Cloned as CC-2432, he actually deserted the GAR when he saw his whole first squad wiped out in a laser blast from a droid cannon on Geonosis – with him as the only survivor. Wandering the galaxy as a free-lance mercenary, he was on Ruusan three months into the war when the CIS invaded it. Caught up in the conflict, the Jedi General - Sinar Decan – noted his battle skills and promoted him to the top when the original Commander was killed in laser fire. He named him Synapse, because of his temperament; it resembled, he said, the diffusion of electrical impulses across a synapse - quick and sharp.
Jedi General Sinar Decan.
Sinar thought of himself as a thinker. A planner, a strategist; call him what you like, said the clones below him, he got things done well. He knew the hopelessness of war, but decided to lead by example, taking command of (what was thought at first) to be a hopeless and expendable Legion. Under his direction, it became a much called upon one, and with Sinar’s clever mix of negotiations with the planetary leaders and democracy within his forces, many a tough battle was won.
Regiments in the Legion:
Regiment (29th): Airborne-- Troopers: 2,304
Battalion -- 59th Jet Trooper Regiment -- Troopers: 576
Only created once the 999th was recognized to be a much-needed legion, this regiment took care of conflicts that needed an aerial vantage point. They shot down approaching droid commandos and planted bombs on fast-moving enemy drop ships, showing the skills needed.
Battalion -- 60th Ground Trooper Regiment -- Troopers: 576
The original concept for the 999th Legion, the Ground Troopers remain the essential part of the Legion's fighting force. Heavily trained with a variety of blaster weapons, some of the original clones underwent further conditioning in order to make them as superior as their more recent, and tougher, brethren, added when the 999th was recgnized to be a truly formidable force.
Battalion --61st Marine Regiment -- Troopers: 576

Big Brother is still watching us...
Was he born on Oceania, the third planet from the sun in the Soc'Ing system ?
Re: 999th Legion - WIP
Might have been. Might have been.
Uh..please leave it. I thought it suited his face, that's all.

Hah, Big Brother is still watching us...
Nice job, though it looks like you did decal your troopers, except with no color... I think.

Nope, no modded stuff. There are some MMCB bits and Wuzzie jetpacks, though - but no decals.

This is MADNESS!!!
Madness... ?
Hmmpf, something just occured to me while viewing this. Nothing quite matches yet. You have blue as your logo color, and your commander is decked out similarily, however your other unit is Republic Red. There's no real uniformity, yet .
For instance, I have, for the majority, Republic Red and white colored soldiers in the 541st. However certain units within the 541st are colored differently, but in a complementary fashion. Trek is bright red instead of the dark red, and the airborne units are of a green (red and green DO go together, thank you).

Easily rectified, though. With decals!
Ahahaha! I'd knew you come through. Didn't want all that modder talent to go to waste .
Re: 999th Legion - WIP
Heh, and one look at my legion and one can tell right away what my favorite color is!
Re: 999th Legion - WIP
BUMP!
Revamp time. New pictures, logo and minfigures.
Just to ask, do I need vehicles or can it be merely minifig-based?

Re: 999th Legion - WIP
Well legions aren't really mandatory, so it's really up to you if you want vehicles.
However, having a legion that's 100% infantry is not such a great idea.

Re: 999th Legion - WIP
Well if he wanted them to be 100% infantry half of them would have to be what? Super Soldiers? To just be a powerful legion.
Re: 999th Legion - WIP
It's really your choice if you want vehicles or not. Good work on the figs though!
Re: 999th Legion - WIP
Ah. I see, thanks all.
What I wish to know is: is this legion now qualified to be inserted into a Corps? So I can save it from deletion...
