The Project: "Supplies"

Post by PhiMa on Tue Oct 13, 2009 10:46 am

In the Winter of 1944, the Battle of the Bulge commenced between the 101st Airborne and the Wehrmacht, in Bastogne, Belgium. The 101st were heavily outnumber and were missing much needed supplies such as weapons & ammunition, Food & Water, and warm winter clothing. This scene depicts the delivery of these items to some soldiers of the 101st in their Foxholes.

The purpose of this so-called project originated on the CABG. Us 3 WWII builders got together and decided to make 24x24 vignettes of one specific theme, this time Bastogne/Battle of the Bulge.

Overall shot:

View into the Deuce:

Much needed supplies, including weapons & ammunition, food & water and warm winter clothing

Without Deuce & 1/2:

Enjoy! C&C appreciated!

That's awesome! Those trees are beautifully done, too. But, didn't a deuce-and-a-half have treads?

The MOC is nice, the trees really give a winter feel to it, with a little bit of grass here and there.
Great job! Thumbs up

Very nice MOC. The trees are nice with the snow and the Deuce... I have to say that it dose need work. There is so much space that is used up by bricks in the back. Wink

This is great! The trees have done it for me. I love the new updated Studebaker. By the way, the troops look cold (your a bit off on the soldiers).

@Shade: Thanks! But no, they didn't have treads. You're thinking of halftracks.

@TB: Thanks! And that's a good thing, right?

@Mazz: Those 'bricks' are crates being unloaded from the deuce.

@Gerrard: Thanks! Credit for it goes to Milan Cmadge.

@RogueJedi: Uh...what? Studebaker? What are you on about? This is a Deuce and a half, and these are allies, americans, not nazis, germans.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

I rather like this one, very detailed and all. And it's very similar to what I've seen in documentaries as well as Band of Brothers.

No these bricks.

What is with them? They take up so much room. Other then that it is great.

@Pizza: Thanks, I get most of my ideas from BoB

@Cfaie: Well, they can wait a while, cause they're not getting them Razz

@Mazz: Ah, that's just accuracy. I do belive they're like that in real life too.

Deuce and a Half is just a nickname. Studebaker is the real name. Look it up.

I did. Studebaker's a car firm, and the Deuce and a Half was made by dodge.

Oh yeah! It isn't a Studebaker, they were used more for engineering. Deuce and 1/2s were more popular (that's the truck you see in the movies). I got mixed up a bit, sorry man.

Edit: It does remind me of the ones you see in Band of Brothers.
