M3 Halftrack 'Fighting Iron' T19 105 mm HMC
My next WWII creation, a US-american M3 halftrack with a 105mm Howitzer on top. I spent the last three days working on this, using some 'unorthodox' methods (Blue tac to hold on the front plate of the cockpit) but, in the end, I like it. I added the howitzer on top, cause well, otherwise it would've been booooring. But, there are a few minor flaws:
1) The wheels: They way I positioned the 4 smaller wheels, it makes the treads hard to roll.
2) The Stability: It's about as stable as a straw house. There are some areas that easily fall apart if you press down to hard on them.
But, then again, it has it's plus points. The armoured plating on the windshield goes up and down, the roof to the cockpit goes off (Although I'm not sure it'll fit a fig...) and the howitzer moves up and down. Oh, and I don't have any black treads D:
Overview:
The front area. The 1x4 wedge plat you see is held on by blue tac (only the front one though) The windshield, as you see, is also smaller, because it wasn't as tall as the usual ones. The netting in the front represents camo netting:
Comparison with a Willy's Jeep and Fig:
The 105mm Howitzer mounted in the back:
Enjoy! Comments and C&C are highly appreciated!

I really like the way you designed that vehicle and the cannon at the back!
Re: M3 Halftrack 'Fighting Iron' T19 105 mm HMC
This vechiele looks un-real. Which is a good thing.
While I wouldn't have imagined something like this in WW2, I have to say that this is awesome, both the MOC, and the original idea itself. Fantastic work Phima!

Heh, thank you all, I'm quite proud of this myself.
@757tofu: There's quite a few ways to reach them now, Baronsat Boutique on Bricklink sells them, Hazel sells them, Sluban sells them, etc.

Apologies for the Bump and double post, but I made v3 today, and didn't want to open a new topic.
I was sick today and so I spent about an hour straight just building, and this what came out after I half scrapped my v2, and modified it from there on. I fixed the front bumper, lengthened the nose, changed the tooth wheel (Sadly had to steal two of my sherman D:), added gears to the side and front, used my new T19 105mm and added doors in the front as well as in the back. Good news: The cabin can now fit minifigures
Overview (From the left side):
Overview (From the right side):
Opening & Closing doors in the front and back:
And a comparison with a Willys Jeep and Rifleman:
Definitely much better now I believe, it's longer and not as tall. What do you think? C&C welcome
