Mars Mission redo
After looking over my two Mars Mission sets, I thought they both had fairly good designs, but the orange and white just stuck out too much and took away from the look. I desided to rebuild the two ships and rover, changing the colours and making alot of little changes to the designs.
First off, the "MX-11 Astro Fighter". The inside body of this one is basicly the same, but I made the wings larger, added bigger engines and more guns.
An overview of the ship
The back is pretty plain, but I think it still turned out well.
The "MX-71 Recon Dropship" came with a small rover that clipped into place undernieth the ship, and stays in place well. The original has a fold out drill arm, which I replaced with a fold out chaingun.
An overview of the rover, the chaingun in firing position.
When the chaingun is folded all the way back, a tile can be placed over the opening to creat a flat storage area.
Now, for the fiesta resistance, the "MX-71 Recon Dropship". Probably my favorite non-linenced themed set, the Dropship has an overall nice design and some fun features.
An overview of it. When I was building it I was trying to give it an Avatar sort of feel.
It's armed with six missles under the cab, two long range flame throwers attached to the side of the cab, four chain guns on the wings, four warheads on the wings, and two large bombs attached to the back.
The back of the ship. My favorite view, I really like the mix of blue and grey here, and the tubes running from the ship to the two bombs (which replaced the alien holders in the original).
And the figures, from left to right (in order of rank): Gunship pilot, Fighter pilot, Rover driver.

Not bad for bulking up some sets, and I really like the color choices.

I think I like the white and orange better, but I do like the mods you've made.

Amazing how just changing the color effects how we perceive these things. Oh wait did I say something about that already!?
