LAV-25A2

Post by ShockAndAwe on Sat Jan 16, 2010 10:23 pm

The LAV-25A2 is an 8-wheeled Light Armored Vehicle currently in use with the USMC. The vehicle is the backbone of the Marine Corps' Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalions.

After I started this little project of mine sometime in late June, I happy and relieved to say, it's finally done.

Side profile. I tried to give in a more "in country" look by adding the spare tire, rolled up net, and packs.

Opposite side profile. The current SLEP (Service Life Extension Program) puts armor over the exhaust equipment, giving it a boxy look compared to the older tubular style. The newer A2 also features additional armor over most of the vehicle, bringing the vehicles weight to around 16 tons.

I like the good length of it and the sloped size to the vehicle. Smile

Wow that great. The gunners nest is the best. There is one thing, it looks like you were rushing. Some bricks are not pushed down all the way.

I like it. Although it may be too long. I just saw a vehicle like this in a movie called "Hurt Locker". Smile

This is really great, it's not too often we get to see modern service vehicles on here! Great replica model, amazing details!

Perfect, you did a nice job keeping it studless and clean while nailing the shape. The packs and gear hanging off the vehicle make it for me. Good work!

I saw this on flickr, but I don't remember if I commented on it. This is easily the most accurate version of of this vehicle I have ever seen. Props to you! Smile
