Laughs* The more you guys say imagination the more I keep visualizing the episode of spongebob where he uses his "Imagination" to entertain himself with a box. Razz

Hey Rook, any chance I can see some of your sketches?

Ah very few are "sketches" in traditional sense. I do have several sketch pads at home but I don't use them for building Lego models. Usually I use post-it notes or 11x8.5 plain paper and *cough* other office supplies. Just enough to rough out the basics so I don't forget them later on. Some times they purely mathematical notes laid over a rough shape.

Good job Rook. It looks really realistic. This is a really cool MOC. I found myself saying shiny too.

Re: Rook's Mid- Month MOC (February 2010)

Post by Noble-1337 on Wed Feb 24, 2010 6:13 pm

Hola Wow! Wow, im not going to be able to build this good for a long time. Waaa!
Oh and about the lightsaber thing, this might solve your problems
"What does your saber color say about you?"

Orange - Darth Maul (if you put the maul toy beside the vader toy you see what I mean)
Orange is almost completely evil, perhaps Maul was not as evil as he let on, He was not yet completely lost to the dark side. Just enjoyed the power that came with it. And he was "farm-raised" on the dark side by Palps. So he is not necesarily evil by choice. Just its part of who he is.

Yellow- Lowbacca
Thinker with dangerous thoughts. Though Lowbacca has not yet shown any outward sign of danger. Perhaps in the future he will become a bit of a Heritic. Believes in a greater understanding of the Force than normal Jedi beliefs, however is constantly aware that the Dark Side is still the Dark Side, and must be watched closely, eternal vigilance allows the yellow saber jedi to stray close to the dark side without crossing the line.

Green - Qui-gon, Yoda, ep6 Luke Skywalker
Thinker, thoughts are inward of the force, not outward of the battle. Luke (although it was not the lightsaber he chose for himself) used a blue lightsaber, he was a warrior first, a jedi second until he built his own saber, in ROTJ he showed a much deeper understanding of the force than previous. He didnt rush into battle anymore, he tried subtlety first (mind tricks, misdirection) only when he had to did he draw his blade.

Blue - Obi-Wan, Anakin, ep4&5 Luke
Denotes a jedi warrior, less time for thinking, more time for action. Anakin Skywalker was always trying to prove himself, his strength was not on internal reflection but in outward action. Obi-Wan was also a warrior first, thus the reason he was the General of the clone army.

Purple - Jaina Solo, Mace Windu
Both without knowing it would at some point stray closse to the darkside (of course Jaina fell but was redeemed). Purple mixes a bit of the Blue (warrior) with a bit of the Red (dark side), but it is still not wholy Dark. Just the potential is there[/color].

RED -Sith-Sidious, Vader, Dooku, and for a time Leia (if I remember right)
Leia is not a typical Jedi (I dont remember if she has finished her Training yet) Her red saber seems to me to show that because she uses her emotions often without thought of the concequence, she would be a good candidate for a sith apprentice. Fortunately her brother keeps her on the path. The sith use red crystals that are synthesized because they have no need of tradition and natural crystals. A reflection of the darkness within them, they manipulate materials into crystals for there sabers instead of using natural gems, just like they manipulate the force to there will instead of letting it guide them.

Oh and sorry if i'm bumping an old thread, and sorry if its so long ( just trying to help )

Don't use coloured text, only staff are allowed to. -Tac
EDIT: Sorry Tac i thought i'd use it to sorta make it look better (colo(u)r of each lightsaber) Waaa! Run away!

Well since B.Y.O.B. has already BUMPed it (which in this case is okay since he did not spam or anything)

I'd have to respectfully disagree. While I find it great that you really did a ton of thinking on this subject matter, I'm pretty sure it has been established that lightsaber color comes solely from the user's choice and what type of crystal. I don't think there are any psychological ramifications, though your speculation is interesting.

Sorry, for that tangent, move back on topic.

I really like this one, I think it could be a bit bigger though. Also maybe include more minifigures. Camo

Sorry im off topic but, what if its still popular after 14 days, dose it still count as bumping against the rules (obv not in Legion)?

EDIT: Oh. Rook thanks for explaining.

Sorry Iím off topic but, what if its still popular later 14 days, dose it still count as bumping against the rules?

Your good. The rule reads that if a topic goes dead for more then 14 days then the only way to revive it is by adding important and new information.

So even if this was a "dead topic" you added relevant new material to the topic. Even though it was slightly off topic since this thread was about a MOC not about Light Saber Colors and their meanings. Wink

The MOC is ok, but I think the clone could use some armor.

I have a ceiling light that is made up of 3 small spots over my right shoulder and then on the left should I have the same thing that is more of an ambient light source, because of it's distance away from the "photo studio". Then finally in the main shot there's the camera's flash bulb.

Ahh I have a 50 watt posable spot light that has clamps, so it can clamp to the table or anything, I got it for 2:50 at a garage sale, brand new, still in the box.
