That looks amazing! Only, the feet are way too small. And the arms are too long.

Clone Hardsuit Empty Re: Clone Hardsuit

Post by legorevolution Sat Aug 07, 2010 11:15 pm

I've seen a reoccurring pattern of builders starting to over-greeble stuff on this site. Sometimes less is more. This is not a shot at you Lazer, but merely a lash out after the build up of others' works. I think reducing studs is always a good idea and so are greebles- but in a limited manner. Once you start to use too many, it gets jumbled and messy. When you do use greebles, make them look like they have a purpose too. Placing them in between joints or where limbs end makes sense, in my mind at least.

On another note, I've started to notice a lot of really fragile and not entirely 'legal' connections between pieces and limbs- or the Tac connection as I call it. Razz Hinged pieces, and other joint pieces can be your friend. Sure in smaller mechas those pieces might be too large to use, but it looks really awkward when you have something as bulky as this connecting down to one of the those T pieces.

^LOL, Lazer. You're not a bright 15 year old. Razz

Onto the build, the feet are too small and the arms are too long as T_C said. I also agree with Revo:

Random greebles + Thin Joint Connections = Room for Improvement Razz Wink

What Revo means is: Don't over-greeble things.

Personally, I think the greebles are fine, just make the arms shorter. Nice build!

The arms look too lanky and long, also too much greebling. This is a good start, but could use some work with smoothing out. Good luck! Smile

Nice hardsuit Smile! I couldn't build a hardsuit to save my life, I suck at it Sad. Oh well, I will keep trying. Does anybody have a basic guide to building hardsuits, because if any of you have that I would really appreciate it if you showed me.

Thanks CowsRTasty, but I tried building a hardsuit today, and it failed. I guess I should just concentrate on what I do best for now: making a few vehicles, and making custom minifigs. Maybe I will build a hardsuit in the future.
