Clone Wars: Battle of Mon Calamari MOC
Well, here's my 16x16 moc that I made for the Epic Star Wars Contest. It was probably my most challenging moc to date to be honest. First of all I'm on limited pieces, especially reddish brown, so one of my MTTs was a little damaged
Second I had to create a Manta Droid Subfighter from scratch with these limited pieces, and being a bit of a perfectionist and scale freak I had to match this.

Anyways, I think I did a pretty good job on it after playing around with different designs for about a week; this is what I came up with.
Don't ask me why, but I really liked the back part of the sub. I thought it deserved its own picture, and formal recognition.
For the bottom I kinda went for TLC feel to it, more playability.
Third (well actually first) was the creation of the figs I would use in the moc. I wanted to be unique, hopefully I gave it to you, and played around with designs for a Scuba Trooper for about an hour or so. Then I started messin around with the topless Kit Fisto. Of course I didn't have any sand green torsos at the time so I just substituted until today when I went and got the Indy Jungle Cutter set, and various others. Here's the figs I made and used in the Moc. The Random 'other' scuba trooper just wouldn't stay away from the closed set. He was enjoying his off duty day very much and happened to wander into our photoshoot a few times.
Now that I had my figs and vehicle done, scenery was next! Then "Oh Crap! The Subfighter is too long... NOOOO!" Turns out the fighter is 23 studs long and way over the 2 stud limit max hanging over the 16x16 base. So after some brainstorming, I decided to tilt the sub at an angle so that it would fit; plus on another note it would probably make the scene look a bit more realistic and cooler. After creating some rocky scenery in order to try and match the bottom sea floor of Mon Calamari, I propped the fighter up using hinged pieces and transparent pieces. The hinge at the front fit perfectly into a sea plant within the scenery, and the back was a bit bulky and unstable so I had to make it quite large unfortunately. Here are some pics.
Now that last pic might make it look like it's hanging over the edge a few too many studs. Photography makes capturing something difficulte (obviously) so I had to try and show that it was no more than 2 studs.
Hopefully that shows it pretty well. Also this thing looks MUCH cooler in real life guys. Final battle pics you've been waiting for. It shows a scuba trooper shooting at a diving Manta Subfighter over a crevice in the ocean sea bed, and Jedi General Kit Fisto swimming along with his lightsaber and guiding a force water orb towards the sub itself.

Final test. Swooshability=Go. Yep roger that, very swooshable, even underwater.
I hope you all enjoyed this long post disecting my moc

Wow, legorev, that's AWESOME! I love how you did the rocky floor with the big rock wall pieces on their side and the Manta Droid Subfighter is AWESOME!
But... No droid to pilot it?
But aimless queries aside, this owns!

Re: Clone Wars: Battle of Mon Calamari MOC
This is your best MOC yet that I have seen. great job. I'm adding it to the list for the July Portal Page. Excellent! Which contest is this one for, EB? I'm screwed! Well I did say I wanted to win 4th. I might not even get that now.

Thanks Rook! For some reason the Subfighter reminds me a lot of your work. Perhaps you had an influence on me... I built it for here, but I thought it was pretty good myself Do you think I should enter it in the Eurobricks Clone Wars Contest or whatever?
C80-there actually was no droid to pilot this craft, it was a droid brain just like in a Vulture.
By the way, thanks for all the feedback all.
Re: Clone Wars: Battle of Mon Calamari MOC
No, no, no, you're not good enough yet to enter the EB contest wait a few years. For sure...

That is awesome! The sea floor was well pulled off, as was the sub! You've got my vote!

Indeed! I seem to recall a droid hanging on to that handle there...
But nonetheless, it still looks awesome!

Hey that's why I did all that hard work But seriously I did spend a really long time trying to get the figs and the sub as accurate, pure, and detailed as possible. Please feel free to use my designs if you feel like it!
Rook, heh, great advice I'm not a member over there at EB so do you think I should get a sponsor or just create an account? BTW for the record, your Mustafar Duel is the best I've seen yet- absolutely love how you've nailed the Lava.
80-Oh there's actually another subfighter that droids could pilot. It was smaller, but unfortunately I didn't have the pieces or space in my moc to make one. I'll pm you a link to the fighter.

Yep that's what I did Their picture uploader over there is pretty confusing... I like ours MUCH better! Rook have you seen that General Grievous Vig over there? I thought it was pretty good.

Yeah, I really liked that moc. It was really simple and very effective to get the feel of Hypori or wherever they were. Did you like it?
