N-1 Naboo Starfighter
Hello Ladies and Gentleman! Who are we kidding, hello gentleman :p Today I would like to present to you my rendition of the elegant, sleek, and majestic N-1 Starfighter. What a wonderful ship it is For some reason when I was comparing legos to the real deal I fell in love with the ship. It's so smooth, and angular. Alot of people, alike me, were very disappointed at the re-release of the 2007 N-1, with minor adaptations. I really wanted to make my own. I think TLG was at a dis-advantage when designing, because one of the critical appearances of the N-1 is its smooth shape. If you show a stud on the wings, you lose the elegance that the ship possesses. I used just about every yellow tile I owned in addition to some SNOT to rid the model of studs. Some might argue that because of how thin the actual wings are, SNOT is disproportionate. However, I personally believe that smoothness is key, and it compensates for the extra thickness. Anyways, here is the model:
Thanks for looking, and if you read too then double the thanks  C&C welcome.

Re: N-1 Naboo Starfighter
You are right, the N-1 starfighter is a delicate and elegant ship. I don't know why they made it into a starfighter. There is also a cruiser like this. The N-... Naboo Cruiser I believe. The one getting blown up right of the front in Episode II. Maybe you could build that to truly honor the magnificent design.

Awesome work! The image is a little blurry though. But I like the smothness of it.

Thanks to both of you! The one you are thinking of is the J-Type Diplomatic barge. The one that Zam blew up for Jango.

*ahem*...
Anyways, the MOC looks pretty good but I see several areas that can be improved. The front/wing area looks nice but the wings look very fragile and not very supported (does it fall off easily when the whole MOC is lifted up?). Also, why not finish making the whole thing studless instead of just leaving the edges with four studs? I don't really understand that but it's rather minor. However, when I first looked at the MOC, I thought that the back was definitely lacking something. When looking at the actual picture the fighter seems to slope downward gradually and finish with a rounded tail. I suggest you make the area connecting the wings a bit wider so it can sort of have that triangular shape going to the back. Just my opinion.

(jaw drops open) WOW! Amazing i love the smoothness. You got the skills dude. By the way have you tried making that Corrascant taxi yet. Give me a shout and very nice job on the ship!
Re: N-1 Naboo Starfighter
It does have a really good look to it, but I agree with troopa as the wings look fragile. Overall, though, I think you have done a very good job with the fighter and I hope to see the next MOC from you!

Re: N-1 Naboo Starfighter
Thanks for the feedback Daisy. I'm really pressed for yellow, I have very littler of it. I am going to try an employ more techniques to preserver bricks in some areas or the model that are more readily needed in other regions. I've already started V2 as well
Typhoon-It's still on the drawing table either next week or in a little while longer
Droidbait- I've got 2 more done and I'll take pics either tomorrow or tonight

Wow, this is very nice! I like how it's not covered with studs, so it looks more realistic. Even though I only buy clone wars sets, this would be a cool thing to have!
Re: N-1 Naboo Starfighter
Larger and/or closer image would be nice to see the detail on this. YUMMM!
Re: N-1 Naboo Starfighter
Love the editing here good job. But again, that picture is quite small.

Yes, those wings are quite fragile looking. Possibly move the cockpit up, I believe it's too far back. Can we see the underside? Good job anyway.
