MARI
The Multipurpose Anthropomorphic Robotic Intelligence (MARI) is a popular synthetic model in the Dominion. They are used for tasks that are tedious and routine, too difficult and time-consuming for humans, and by the military for war 'games' and target practice. Their intelligence is relatively basic and, depending on the complexity of the task, require a human 'master' to oversee their actions.
MARIs are also capable of complex communication with humans and, for their namesake, have feminine voices, although 'male' versions do exist.
About the MOC:
A simple robot design I've come to admire. I also have a sketch of this in my Flickr stream. C&C is always appreciated.
Also, why don't line breaks show up anymore?

Re: MARI
I really like this.
When I read Mari in the title and saw the picture I assumed the build was about the girl.
Nice robot.

Can you be more specific? I barely Photoshopped it at all.
Re: MARI
I have to do this.
Rule one: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Rule two: A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
Rule three: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
You should all know what these were.

Re: MARI
I've come to admire that simple robot design as well. It looks great for a futuristic/humanoid world.

Yeah that was my point. The swirling around the edge of the image was distracting. Cutting or fading the swirl would have been better.

... If this is what your talking about:
I can't see that in the original picture... But thanks for letting me know.

... Your gonna have to tag it for me on Flickr. I don't see any 'swirling.'
Change the settings of your monitor to make the it darker, I used to have the same problem with my old screen.

Yeah I just tried that and it does show up, but I can't see well with it that low - it's only a cheap monitor and I need the brightness/contrast up really high.
Re: MARI
Saw this on Flickr. Nice little MOC, good background information. Not too complex, yet still looks great.

Re: MARI
Yeah, I don't use magic wand - often it picks up something that I don't want, and because I use white expanse I've often found it easier to simply brush stuff out.
Less is more, for me. Also to add more usually causes instability, and I prefer stability over extra detail.
