Custom lightsabers 2

These aren't for sale either. Same reasons as last time. However this time I would like some feedback. I have enough parts to make one more hilt design. I can't think of any type of designs so I need your help. I also want to thank eclipseGrafx. He was the first and only one so far that I have seen with the lightsaber staff. The only reason I made some was because I was inspired by eclipse. Anyway onto my second batch of hilts.



This was my first staff design. I thought that since my hilts were one solid color I could add a little color to this one.



Pretty much the same story with this one but I wanted to try out black.



I did this one plain thinking. Ah what the heck, it will match my hilts.



I love this hilt It was originally going to be curved but. I think it looks better this way.

Wow nice, I really like the staff with the black piece. How do you make these? I have been trying to figure out how for the better part of 5 months.

Sorry but I can't tell you that. I think I figured out the way eclipseGrafx does his and I don't want to give away his techniques for the hilts or the staffs. I might be wrong however. He might look at it and say that he makes it different.

Sorry but I can't tell you that. I think I figured out the way eclipseGrafx does his and I don't want to give away his techniques for the hilts or the staffs. I might be wrong however. He might look at it and say that he makes it different.

Can you at least give me a hint? I'm not looking to make these so I can sell them I want to use them on my jedi and sith minifigures.

The only hint I can give you without giving away how to make it is that it requires lots of patience. But if you want it bad enough I guess I could break down and sell/trade two of them to you. Only two because the rest might be prizes for some upcoming contest.

His technique is different. And definitely not hard to figure out.

I like the hilt because (IMHO) it's the only one that says STAR WARS.

Google a lathe and you will figure it out. It's the same concept that applies to making wooden spindles. You would use different cutting tools though.

I know that he carves but I can't find a rod thick enough to carve into. I also didn't want to give away anything he did. I know how adamant he is about keeping that secret and I didn't want to accidently give away that secret even if I didn't do it exactly like he did.

You know what whtever I'll figure it out someday but for now I'll just be getting from eclipse . Eventually I will figure it out, although I think technic pins are used in some form to make these.

Nice hilts you got there, I think they are all great. I just like the first one for the Jedi, just seem more appropriate to match their robes. Same with the second one, but for the Sith. The thrid is like a retired Jedi feel, so yeah. Um.. the last one was kind a standaed hilt, so no comment.

You do know that he just carves into regular rods and lightsaber hilts, right? There's nothing special about the way he makes his hilts, apart from having more skill in the area than everyone else.

Then how does he get the blade to stick into the rod the exact same size?

Main body of the staff is carved, the emitter and other protruding parts are made from cut up and carved pins, which are then either glued on or simply slid onto the body.

Actually its less skill and more the right tools. Which I won't explain how to make.

It didn't take long to learn the rest once I made the right equipment for it. I have since tried to upgrade the equipment but it doesn't seem to give the same results.
