Tri-Droid (Updated 12-10-08)

Well, I've decided on what to do for my next project: a Tri-droid.





I've already decided on what to use for the head and I do have ideas for the legs but I don't have all of the parts I need (soon to be ordered of BL - I'm not giving up on this one ). I have to ask if anyone has tried this - I know that Rook made an Octuptarra droid but this one is the larger version, seen on Mygeeto. Anyhow, wish me luck!

I cant wait to see the finished droid. How tall are you expecting it to be?

Using one of these legs?

Those would be good for the smalled of the two droids. The larger one is about 30-40 studs tall, I think.

Judging by the very basic prototype I have right now (it only has 1 leg and I didn't show much regard for colours), I'd say around 8 and 1/2 inches or around 20 cm.

Mine's probably not going to be that height unless I come up with a new head design as the whole thing would look very disproportionate.

OK, I've finished my prototype model. I think that all of it needs some work to it but it looks OK. I've managed to make it so that the head and weapons revolve but I don't know if it's sturdy enough to make it to the final design. I do have pictures but don't expect them today (or tomorrow).

I would love to see it Bly! I've always wanted to build one of these.

OK, the current height of it is 30 studs exactly so Rook's predictions were correct. Still no pics though.

Well, I've also decided that this is going to go on my entry for the EB contest. I just hope that it turns out OK.

Nice but I don't have any of them. Anyhow, you all get to wait another day because Walmart is taking forever to give me the CD with the pictures on.

You could always BL it . Walmarts, always taking forever

Legorev, that's actually a very, VERY good idea! You do need 2 though which is expensive.

Already there brother! Bought one off BL, and I'll combine with the other one from my Rogue Shadow and test it out.

It's definitely going to be up later today. Since my contest entry has to be in by then.

WOW, I like that droid! These were pretty importent, especially in the new Clone Wars series, so I hope We'll see an official version later. Yours looks FANTASTIC Bly!
