The Sandworm Empty The Sandworm

Lately I've been experimenting with canopy pieces, and came across and odd connection. After tweaking around a bit it became a worm. C@C is welcome as always!

Creepy! Loving the dark trans. How's the stability?

Thanks! The stability is horrible! The canopies must have broke from the connection points at least 10 times during the photography set up alone. There are many possibilities with the connection though, it's just a matter of having the patience to keep reconnecting the pieces over and over.

I tried to make a circular shape like that once but the canopy pieces didn't really fit properly and I was afraid that I might break/crack one of them. So not really sure how that affects the pieces but its nice to see you managed to put it together. Good idea though. Thumbs up

Haven't you done this before? Not the sandworm, but the canopy idea. I tried it myself after viewing this thread and it's sturdy enough if you use something like 3-4 windshields rather than a dozen or so featured in this picture. It would be good to see the technique used more often in the community.

Thumbs up

Whoa! I forgot about that old thing. I guess after 2 years of MOC'in (& 150-200 MOC's later) you tend to forget some of the your own MOC's. Embarassed Laughing

Its a cool technique idea, but I don't think it is sturdy enough to really make good use of. As for the sandworm, I like it. I looks awesome!
