The countdown. We readied our jetpacks, checked our weapons, grabbed a few ammo clips. And then we were told to plunge in the deep darkness of the Tarisian Undercity. "Alright, men, get ready. Voché, pop the hatch!" 3..... The hatch opened, and we got our first view on the wreck that was once a city.... 2..... I slowly walked to the edge..... 1..... "Drop!" I relaxed all my muscles, and dropped down in a mind boggling free fall.
Brakes, the idiot, thought he'd be cool if he would do some skydiving tricks. Well, what goes around comes around. A clone from another platoon got hit nearby, and the explosion that followed threw Brakes off course, interrupting his current looping. I don't know where he landed, but I'm sure he'll be fine. Hatch thought it was smart to disobey my command and go after him, so know I have to do it with two men less. Well, I think I'm better off without those guys anyway.
After we landed, the search started. We had to get to some kind of river and await the Destroyers there. I had left Trev to cover our six, in case the Seps had dispatched more droids to assist the Destroyer team. We started picking them off one by one. But after four of those things, we got to a new part of the area, a little further down. As we entered, a Droideka suddenly 'appeared' right in front of me. While I finished it, out of nowhere we were under fire. Perfect...
"Ambush, ambush!" "Copper, get down here! Everyone, find cover!" "This place is a fuckin' death trap!" "Shut it, Carter!" "Sir, I see them!" "What do you see, Copper?" "The snipers!" "What snipers?" "Droideka snipers." "Retreat, retreat! Did you say Droideka snipers ? Seriously?" "Sir I recommend we call for assistance!" "Good idea, Voché."

:/"Command, here CT 8-060, requesting immediate evac! We have been ambushed!"
:/"Request approved, sending Commando assistance. Evacuation team en route. Is the objective completed?"
:/"That depends on the efforts of the other Lieutenants, but we think so."

Well, here you go. I think this is my best 457th entry yet. C&C are welcome as always! Click here for the thread on flickr.

Nice job, I really like river, use of elevation, and the wall used as a floor. The Destroyer also looks amazing!
Re: 11.1 Taris, Queen of Harts
Nice job, I really like that Droideka. I wish a couple more of it's pieces were brown, though.
At least you're actually on Taris. I'm off on some supply planet and there isn't a lot of information about it.

Thanks, but brown is not really a good color for Taris, and in Knights of the Old Republic there were whole gamelevels on Taris!

No, no, no, I mean more brown on the Droideka.

Yeah, I agree with train. More brown on the Droideka would be cool, but great MOC none the less.

Well, the only reason his arms are brown is because I couldn't find any more in another color. And most of the pieces I used are not available in brown, or ffing hard to get. Anything else on my building techniques?

First off - I like the story - It adds some interesting back drop get in the mood so to speak.
Over all this is a strong build - there are a lot of things to like here - I love the repeatable patterns - and those inverted headlights I thought were particularly clever. From a technique perspective - there isn't really anything wrong it looks quite solid and good use of a variety of techniques.
Form a style and presentation perspective there are few things you might want to consider:
Your MOC is essentially on two levels the over hang and the main level - but each of these levels are fairly flat. You might want to think about having a gradual slope - this makes the ground slightly more interesting and more importantly it gives the viewer a better camera angle and see a bit more.
Presumably that arch the guy on top is standing on fell over from the wall - right?
if so you should make it look more like the rest of the wall - even if you have to make it slightly higher ...
Re: 11.1 Taris, Queen of Harts
That main wall is wonderfully textured, those slopes really add a lot. The plants are placed in the perfect places as well. My only question is how that one clone (Copper is it?) got up on that ledge?
Re: 11.1 Taris, Queen of Harts
Thanks! They are exiting a small structure, and he's standing on the edge of the roof. That's how I thought it to be, but I think I should have made that clearer in the backstory.
Also, Sci-Moc's, You've given a truly unique advice! I think it is indeed a good idea to make it more sloped, and I will most certainly use it in 11.3 (not in 11.2, because I've planned to do some SNOT then, and that makes it harder to slope.)
