Defending the destroyed. Empty Defending the destroyed.

Post by C.J.Cutrone9 Fri Nov 25, 2011 10:34 pm

Well I was scrounging my collection for every white piece I could find in rider to start building my new base and found out I was 1 48x48 base plate short. Wink

Anyway, not wanting to just leave the baseplate there I added a destroyed building and such. Then decided I would use ep. 3 clones and make it like they were preparing for a droid search party and all.. So pictures then story.

ARC-7711's log.

Day 455

"We had been taken by surprise. The droids came and went, taking out our communications first and then everything else. They thought we were goners. But we weren't. We were just coming to. When we finally freed ourselves from the wreckage we tried getting through to command, apparently here base was destroyed as well. We were more than likely the last ones on the planet. We knew the search parties would be coming to take out any survivors. We would be ready. We wouldn't fail. Joseph out."

C&C is really appreciated!

Lighting needs to be vastly improved, first picture is way to yellow. Still need to add detail to the whole left side.

Waaaaay too empty. Gotta fill the whole thing. Remember quality > quantity. Wink

I know, but I had a ton of layering on it.... Figured that would suffice.

And Halen, My White Light is in another lamp and sadly, I wasn't in the mood to, move my bed, unplug the yellow lamp, and replug in the white.

I agree with TD, it is pretty empty. Is this a WIP or is it finished?

I know.... My Tri-pod broek and so it is WAY more difficult to take pictures, and the lighting doesn't help either. The build, I know. I was kinda iffy but decided it wouldn't do any harm to post it. Sometimes I am surprised my guildy rights aren't taken away. Embarassed

Just because you've layered some of it doesn't mean you can ignore the empty space. Add stuff. Put a crashed ship somewhere, add some small plants in the snow or something. It's just way too plain. Hate to tell you this but the MOC would look pretty much the same without all that extra snow area on the left. That's a good way to see if you need to add more stuff or not. Wink

Why post something that you know to be subpar?

Why didn't you post this in the WIP section? I would make more sense because the advice you would be getting would be about adding details, it would be more positive than it is now. And besides this does look like a work in progress to me.

Because I wanted advice on it for when I made another section
