Big One podracer Empty Big One podracer

Post by blackninjatom Mon Mar 28, 2011 8:59 pm

Extremely dangerous, for the other racers that is.

Choosing the theme for this was difficult. I looked at an ostrich racer from Prince of Perisa, Thomas the Tank engine, army men, and so on. I almost didn't want to do this at first, after making my peacekeeper podracer, but making the rocket with the words on the side with Sid piloting a skull shaped pod was too good to pass up.

Also this is sorta practice to make sure I don't screw up on submitting this in the FBTB contest thread. If you see something that might result in a disqualification please tell me.

Stunning. The details and shaping of the pods is fantastic, especially the "Big One" brick work. Good luck in the contest. Smile

Nice. If this for the FBTB contest make sure reread the rules. I think you might have to have an actual brick built energy beam between the pods.

I read the title before seeing the ship, and was excited. This made my excitement worth it! Wonderful job on the rockets! Wow this thing looks

Oh, no. What have you done? You made something that is not in the cool zone (Ep 2 and 3) cool. Technically impossible. No, just joking! Awesome MOC, love the rocket-shaped engines. Wow this thing looks Thumbs up

The amount and usage of pieces amazes me. You settled for no less then perfect and IMO you executed. I applaud you.

Thanks all. The stressful part was, with college getting in the way, I only had spring break to design this. Then I had to bring what I had back to school and BL the remaining parts. I wasn't sure some of the parts would make it in time. Now all I can do is worry about all these late entries that are coming in.

This is ridiculous!

In a good way. The engines are quite unique and well shaped, as well as have a good amount of contrasting colors to break it up. Great lettering as well, and the placement of the little telephone pieces really make it up. The only part I'm not too fond of would be the skull as the main cockpit. It doesn't seem right. Sure, it might be good for looks, but it doesn't seem very flight-friendly.

Excellent podracer either way! Surprised

Yeah, the skull has received a love or meh reaction from everyone, but hopefully it will be enough to get fan favorite. Wow this thing looks I couldn't think of another pod design or much else I could do for building it given the time I had, and I was building the engines up to the last hour before I had to leave my Lego at home.

A lot of good entries came in late though, which scares me a little. The Maersk one in particular seems to be a big favorite. I'm guessing the poll will go out sometime this week, so we'll see how it goes.
