M-206 "Gurreck"
M-206 Infantry Fighting Vehicle
Still in the pursuit of a efficent troop transport, Colonel Turaki Kaier maintained pressure on Rothana Heavy Engineering for new designs. From their M-Series Armored Support Units came the M-206. A much more robust vehicle than the 541st's M-109, the 206 has two dual auto-cannons (also able to manually pick targets), two particle cannons, and one thirty-eight millimeter artillery piece. Pilots, aside from complimenting their much more sturdy cockpit and comprehensive HUD, laud the ability to slave the two dual cannons to an auto-targeting system, while being able to focus more thoroughly on neutralizing enemy armored threats with the auto-loading 38mm and the two particle cannons. The 38mm can also be taken control of by a seperate gunnery team for precision artillery fire.
A problem seen in the 109 was said to be the boxy nature of the craft. The 206 still is somewhat boxy, as production requirements had a limited amount of armored plating for the vehicle, however the front of the IFV boasts slanted plating, ideal for absorbing hits from armor piercing rounds. The troop cabin also has been expanded upon. The vehicle now seats four, and has an extensive armory. Colonel Kaier has allocated a sniper rifle, an AA-20 Assault Rifle, and 6 standard blasters for each IFV's armory. Also in the cabin is a tactical screen, ideal for troop commanders to brief their squad with.
Rothana engineers also sought to capitalize upon the mobile nature of the 541st, by introducing a second way of egress. When they first designed the 38mm's gunnery mechanism, they allocated some roof space which could be slid back into a recess for the gunners to fire from. In thinking of the tactical dismounts indicative of the 541st, they instead had the roof piece swing down, and installed boot supports to the roof panel. This way, if the enemy had surrounded the vehicle, the squad could climb out through the open roof, while cover fire was laid down by a soldier strapped to the roof panel. This prevents a much more substantial casulty rate, by going out the main exit. A heavy weapon could also be mounted at that rear postion, for additional fire support.

Hmmmmmm....
To be honest it just looks like a box with some guns on it, I think you could've made it look powerful and strong without it just being a box.

I know, the problem is, I've got nothing but plates in bley and grey. Not nearly enough bricks for anything good. And I've got little to pivot the plates with . No matter what I do, it'll come out boxy.
Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
Ah, I would suggest maybe BL'ing some hinges or something.

I'd recommend PaB online then.
Anyways it isn't too bad, it reminds me of something that CC made here during the first months.

Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
Yeah, I agree with Ube, it's kinda like a box on wings...
I think you can remedy that though, if you look at my Cayman, you'll see that most of it is plates.

I've really noticed how I've needed those lately. Had to scavenge my LAMRC for some . I've never tried BL before, though. PaB has such a pitiful collection, though .

But you've got slopes, and walls, and glass elements . This is all plate .
Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
Personally, I have never used BL and I have quite a bit of parts.
I think I took too many sets apart when I was younger..

Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
So, any more comments not already unsaid? Or is the consensus "Get some more bricks, you twat!"
Or is it "You're better at set design than transports!"
Or is it "You're better at set design than transports!"
Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
It looks too much like a box, use some slopes.

Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
The Inside is pretty cool. but I think that maybe you could have made the exterior part a little bit more interesting, like maybe put a win piece. Otherwise, good job!
Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
It's ugly, but in a good way!
I like how you built the interior, holochess is awesome. The outside could use more greebles but it's good.
I can't wait to see this in your comics!

Re: M-206 "Gurreck"
Hmm, remember DP's gunship? (not the LAAT/i)
That was pretty boxy, maybe you could "borrow" some ideas from there!
