My first successful cast!
Alright, as some of you MAY know, I'm starting my own business casting custom parts, like Arealight and Wuzzupbob. I'm working on my first custom helmet for casting http://www.flickr.com/photos/sirtsaboc/3342269369/ and it is about 60% complete.
I bought my casting supplies a few days ago, and tried out a new kind of mold material. To test it out, I made a mold for arealight's clone visor, and casted it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sirtsaboc/3377369570/ a success. Now I can continue on to the helmet casting.

Tell me what you think!

Re: My first successful cast!
I just hate how it takes so long to cure... 2 whole days... no wonder Arealight takes so long to restock. I don't blame him
Re: My first successful cast!
Looks awesome!
Where did you get the supplies? And how much does it cost?

If anyone ever wanted a visor for an EFEC Kommando... you've got buisness! If your Clone Troopers don't sell, try the EndWar market !

Use Alumilite. It cures in a minute, and its what Wuzzupbob uses for Clone Army Customs.

Re: My first successful cast!
Yup. Alumilite works really well too, but this one was epoxy resin that I got at Michael's crafts store. I like alumilite more, though.
I used this though, because it only costed my $10 for like 8 ounces of it.

So you bought all the stuff at Michaels? How much did it all cost and what do you need?
Back on topic.
It it looks very good. I like the snowtrooper helmet alot. The idea to use that AT-AT driver helmet was very smart.

(I Thought I'd bump this, as it's only three days since the last post.)
Two days? I have some Smooth-on resin that takes only thirty minutes to dry. And it's pretty cool stuff. I also would recommend Alumilite, though. Silicone moulds are the way to go.
And nice job on the cast! It looks awesome. As does the Snowtrooper helm. Seems like everyone's making one 'o them...
