British soldiers

With my custom brodie. Yes, the brim is trimmed, it's not as large as the one on the original castle helmet. The left soldier is waiting for his Bren LMG.

Mhmmm. These look good. Only thing I would change is put them in dark tan, with Devchenko's torso (that russian torso). Great job on the brody!

Nah, the Brits in North Africa were as tan as they could be.

Still, these guys are awesome! Can't wait to see the Bren.

Those Brodies are splendidly done! A little too wide, and a little too lusterous; but I still love them all the same!

Thanks Sial. It isn't too wide, but the 'bobble' at the top should be larger indeed. The size of it makes the helmet look pretty big, but it isn't. Anyway what does everyone think of the color match? I tried to get it as close to the tan as I could. The varnish gives it a really legoish effect too, IMO

@ DP: Not bad at all! For a personal custom the brody looks good, though (expectedly) bumpy.

And as we all explained in the topic, war photographers were sent in to make pics of own troops for propaganda and newspaper purposes. It makes no sense to make a pic of a German happily killing their own soldiers.

And I use Revell model paint.

That is simply amazing!

Only thing is when BA comes out with theirs I'll be buying it.

Seriously, very well done DP. The color match is very nice, and the shape is good. I'd try to smooth out the aint a little bit more, you can see very minor lumps and brush strucks, but other than that it looks fantastic!

Thanks Zeph. Yea I know about those little bumps and stuff but I can't fix it anymore as it' s painted and sealed already. The original castle helmet had a lot of bobbles and stripes on it so I had to trim it off. When I actually trimmed this off (quite some time ago) I wasn't as skilled with the trimmer as I now am.

Looks good! Although I'm in the middle of doing exactly the same thing! So I better not hear any lip from you people when I post my british forces!

First of all, when we look at other WWII protos (MG42, Panzerfaust, etc.), Then have been around for quite some time already, and still not produced in large numbers. Also, helmets are an entire new idea for Will, which also slows it down. Plus I don't care. They look cool, I had the spare helmets, (The lower part was cutted off already because I asked my dad to do this a long time ago to see of it would be cool castle helmets (it weren't FYI)) and it's 500% better than Brits without helmet.

Well that lower part was simply a knife, then I trimmed the top flat, and then he used a piece of plastic, a little thicker than a stud, which he put in the helmet, attached the other end to a drill, put the drill on and then it's just a matter of using a file.
