Hoth on ice.
I've been wanting to try somthing like this for quite a while, but only got around to it last night.
I made some small snow covered rocks and a frozen rebel, then stuck them onto some plastercene so they don't float. I put that into a plastic container filled with water then let it sit in the freezer overnight. To get the little beads of ice on the mountain part you have to take it out every now and then and spray a little water on it.
I was a bit worried it might damage the bricks, but I can't see any warping or cracking.

Ok, that is awesome, I love the frozen rebel. "Would you like a rebel pop sir?" A very cool technique,(get it) mind if I use it some time?

Sweet! I really like this idea! The guy in the ide reminds me of "To Die For" though!
Re: Hoth on ice.
The vig is a little plain, but the ice technique is pretty awesome!
The name seems a bit redundant though...

I think I've seen this done before a very long time ago...
But pretty cool indeed. (no pun intended)

I think I'm gonna have to do this sometime... First step was freezing toothbrushes for April Fools, this second one will be freezing my lego's. A big step, to be sure.

I got it thawed in about a minute under hot water, it's fun watching it melt

You don't think I know that... But I'm saying it will take a good while to melt, and get the figure unstuck... nvm, ffs.
EDIT: Never mind, he used hot water.
Re: Hoth on ice.
Actually, I was pretty sure you knew that. The " " was meant to imply sarcasm because the way I read your comment, the phrasing seemed to imply more that it would be hard to get the lego pieces out of ice not that it would take a long time... but this isn't that related to the MOC so I'll shut up now...

RE:Hoth on ice
Really Cool Idea But why is there a white face on the rebel pilot?

Nice idea! I might try that! Did you freeze the snowies' feet in the ice? If not, how long did it take you to get them to stand up?

Re: Hoth on ice.
The rebel has a white face because its frozen and pale, and I got the snowies up on my first try, they seem to balance fine like that.

Re: Hoth on ice.
Never thought about doing this before. Very interesting indeed. That frozen rebel certainly makes the vig, definitely eye catching.
Re: Hoth on ice.
Nice idea wrecks! It turned out pretty well even though the MOC is a bit plain itself.
Re: Hoth on ice.
It's all good, no cracks or warps, and I took the arm out and popped it back in, seems totally fine.
