Equinoctial Efficiency

It's a comic, and a midnette, and a contest entry, and a faction-based build. So I thought it would be best suited for this forum .


"In retaliation to AlphA strikes on their holdings on Metalorn, Equinox Galactic Security launched several simultaneous forays into the mercenary collective's territories throughout the Outer and Mid Rim regions. Using holographic rendering devices, simulations were made and shown to the populace, revealing to the common man how the ODC is able to launch rapid and debilitating attacks on targets - in this case, a base tucked into a mountainside. Played up to the media as a crusade against the "lawless...thugs", in reality, it was nothing more than a "don't kriff with us" message to their former assailants.

What follows is an HNE station report on the attacks, and the holographic simulation on display. "

What is the large black object onto which you GIMP'd some moss, though? That's my only query.

The only large black item I see is the ODC Drop Pod... smashing through the wall and a floor of the building, and it has no moss on it. And there aren't any GIMP effects in the actual midnette (*shakes fist*).

In the fourth picture the ODC Drop Pod looks like it has moss on it.

I like the MOC, it's got some nice details and you can't go wrong with a dead Gungan!

It could be an attempt to make it look like a holographic image, but you didn't continue it to the rest of the shot. That's interesting though: a dark green holo.

Where your eyes may discern moss, mine see nothing more than bad dodging. It isn't an intentional effect, and I assure you, I'm not that callow a GIMP user (*eyebrow*) that I would start an effect, and not see it to it's proper conclusion .

Bad dodging? So what was it?

Dodging is a brush in most photo editing suites that fixes the coloration of items. The pod was too dark, and you couldn't see the details, so I dodged a bit and it turned out... less than admirably .

All good until my eyes hit that mass of dark green.

Oh look, it's another faction fighting AlphA...

The MOC is nice, but the idea has been done twice(?) already.
