LM-Alpaca Empty LM-Alpaca

Post by blackninjatom Mon Jun 21, 2010 4:01 pm

So this most recent wave of sky(ski?) fi planes has prompted me to enter yet another theme.

This may be the most original thing I've built since the Wasp fighter. Typically I replicate preexisting things, but it is nice to have a change in pace.

The direction of the studs in the wings changes two or three different times.
Also the nose came from finding the lip of a 2x2 round plate fits in the groove of the canpoy piece minimizing visible gaps.

As for techniques, the 1x3 curved slope is held to the rest of the elevator by a minifig hand, and the wing utilizes this technique on the end.
The cockpit is held on by two minifig hands, which you can just make out in the single photo.

This is one awesome MOC! The wings and tail have been done really well, and the front fits in nicely! I also like the way you added those guns. How did you get those two red dots on the wings though? Unless they were stickers... Smile

Holy crap. Have you ever considered not being awesome at everything you do? The whole build is incredible, and the coloring is particularly appealing. Man, this is just great. The wing shape is also very cool, and building mini is sometimes just more impressive than building regular scale becuase, I mean, to fit in all the deatils and shapes with less pieces and space to do it with, that's impressive.

This is like one of those creator sets I WOULD buy.

Nice job, and as TD asked, what are the red dots?

My motivation is wanting to be good at what I do, whether it's work, school, or lego building. Pilot

Thank you, I really appreciate that.

The red dot is in fact just a sticker. It is from the shield sticker sheets that came with the old knight's kingdom sets.
Oh something I'll add to the original post, the cockpit is held on by two minifig hands, which you can just make out in the single photo.

I can't tell how you held this thing together whether it be the cockpit or the wings. That's just impressing.

Well overall, I Love it!

This kinda reminds me of the Japanese planes from WWII like the "Zero" or "Kate." Good job!
