I just saw this on the Ugly Duckling and thought it was quite interesting.

ATTENTION ALL LEGO® BUILDERS! In 2011, the LEGO Club is launching an all-new program dedicated to making YOU an even better LEGO builder than ever before!

By joining the LEGO Master Builder Academy (MBA for short), you’ll be able to find out the secret tips and building techniques of the real LEGO Master Builders who create the official LEGO sets and super-models.

LEGO MBA members will receive special designer handbooks in the mail that include behind-the-scenes information and inspiration straight from the Master Builders, all-new model building instructions, and (of course!) the bricks you’ll need to build them. Each kit and handbook spotlight a fan-favorite LEGO building theme, including spaceships, robots, cars, planes, creatures and more!

The LEGO Master Builders will show you how to go beyond the instructions in designing and building your own original LEGO creations. You’ll also be able to improve your building skills and creativity as you advance through skill levels on the all-new LEGO Master Builder Academy website.

Not saying this isn't a good find, it really is news, but I don't know if this will be worth paying for in the least.

You're right, but for those that don't have the CABG this could be useful.

I may buy into this for the minimum subscription. If nothing more it will be a surprise in the mail every other month. Gotta be better than a bill.

Probably if it stays exclusive to a one time printing just for the club.

I don't know about this because the "master LEGO builders" who build the official LEGO sets don't exactly make the best sets ever...

And they have the most ludicrous amount and type of pieces to build their creations, yet we still do better. They also all probably have Masters' in architecture.

Ah, but you forget. They can only use so many pieces so production doesn't cost too much.

Plus, they aim for a younger group of buyers.

Yes but if they made some more genuine looking sets compared with the models then they could also gather more AFOLs and teens to buy their sets as we will have more money than the children.

I don't know how a set from TLG could possibly be more genuine. Try a different word Troopa.
Teenagers don't have as much money as a kid with two working parents so your point isn't valid anyways.

They may or may not have more money but most likely they would have more discretion on how to spend their money whether they have a part time job or allowance. But I’m not really sure if that even affects the out come of the discussion. I need more coffee.

Think of it this way:

If you have it, you will get bricks from lego and some awkward colored mini-figure.

But I think it will help people that don't really know how to get the creative process going- even here on CABG. This would also probably make a slight increase in guild members here, in my opinion.
