This is not about the minifigure!
I made this today:


Here's the whole thing:

When the big cog is turned by the small cog it slows the spin right down, so when you make the rotation horizontal you get a really smooth turntable effect.

In the future I'd make the angle so that you can only see the minifigure. For this post it made sense, since it's about the "how". Thumbs up

You could also build this into a platform that you could build backgrounds/floors for!

If you secure the axel at the other end of the worm gear you can remove the lurch at the start.
