The Battle Over Coruscant!
Here is my Battle Over Coruscant Diorama(<well sort of). I am thinking of entering this into the official LEGO STARWARS SCENE contest (If you guys think it is good enough ). It took a lot of work, and turned out AWESOME! It's MUCH cooler in real life, I spent about a week wrking on it (took forever to tie all those knots!) In the end I omitted one V-wing, four Eta-2s, and a booster ring, so that I had some stuff to use elsewere. The costom ARC-170 was developed because we (My brother and I) wanted some way to distinguish Commander Oddball's ARC fighter from the other two (soon to be three!) All the Republic fighters are upgraded sets, some like two of the V-wings are not yet finishd being upgraded, as I am still looking for parts. The Jedi ETA-2's are ugraded to be just like the starfighter from 7661, minus the "booster ring connectors" as MY ring doesnt need them! The ARC-170's all have landing gear and a lower tail cannon (why LEGO didn't have these is mind boggling as they are both accomplished very easily). If you look closely at the "bottom of scene pics" you may notice, two mini ARC fighters, a mini V-19, a mini Lukrahulk, and a mini Vennator! Any way, enjoy!:

WOW! Great job, I love the paper used as fire!

Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
I understand how hard this is to capture as it is on your ceiling and it's very chaotic. You did a great job showing all the battle chaos, one detail I liked in particular was the clone flying out of an exploding v-wing, twas sweet. I suggest putting actuall fire into your creation instead of paper. This has the potential to be jawdropping
Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
If only you had spider man powers so we could get more pictures. Well this is quite awesome and I would not want to be in that battle. I like the shark mouth ARC-170.

The overall is great, although, I like it more if you have the republic on 1 side and the CS on he other, it gives more the idea of the battle, since we never saw a big dogfighting like this in the movies, only side-by-side attacks and chasings.

One thing you could do, is make black cotton ball flak. I think that would look very interesting.

Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Yeah, I will probably replace the fire with a more realistic alternative when I find one, black cotton balls is another good idea! However for the the "having republic and CIS seperate" idea, space battles arn't like that, although the camera angles in the movie do this so that way the sequence isn't so confusing, but space battles are VERY chaotic and don't have drawn-up battle lines!

Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Oh, I feel dizzy! Good job is that flames that you created on some of them?
Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Awesomeness! Really cool. Got to say that I love the Sharkteeth on the ARC, really did a nice job with those. If I had a regular Arc, I'd ask you how to do it, but I don't, so I wan't...
Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Yeah, the flames are on the blowing up ships. Sorry for the picture angles but photographing this was INCREDIBLY difficult. If any one wants to know how to costomize any type of ARC-170 (shark, or just upgrade the set to be more accurate) tell me and I'll try to help!

Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Awsome, I would never be able to make something like that, the only space sets I hace are the Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring, and V-Wing Starfighter. One question though, why is there a AT-TE in the background of one picture?

There is an AT-TE in the backround because it is his display shelf.

Did you see my ceiling dioramas over on the collection thread? I like how you strung your's up though, better.
Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Yeah I did, looks AWESOME! I love hanging ships, makes look so "real". I did mine so that each ships' string is tied to a loop, which hangs on the hook. That way I can take them down or move them easily. Every so often when I'm bored (rarely) I like to change whats happening in my dioramas.

Yea, but it can be hard tying all those knots.

I teach outdoor education to the youth group that I volunteer with so the knots are easy for me. I also used to rock climb a lot in me teens, once again knots.

You know you should have a autobiography and get it published it would be a big best seller .

Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Rook, don't get me wrong. As a boy scout, I'm great with knots. But those are so dang small with fish wire!

Re: The Battle Over Coruscant!
Each ship has two knots, one to connect the string to the little loops, and another to actually hold the ship. Because of this I couldn't hang all the ships at once, tying all those tiny knots gets so tedious! By the way Rook, an autobiography would be COOL!
