What one could use the most work?
Re: Thomsons Finest
My comments in bold.
That's what I'm trying to say; hopefully you'll understand me this time.
Alpha wrote:Firstly, Thompsons Finest = Republic Commandoes. They could defeat them. Y'know how fast you die from SBDs and B1s in RC? Pretty fast. And, on the Prosecutor, Sev was "incapacitated" within one freaking knife to the body (Doesn't kill you).
I know, but the name Thomson on a clone just makes me sick. OK, but a basic clone trooper without the genetic enhancement of ARC Troopers which makes ARC Troopers better than commandos can't, with no amount of training, equal a commando or an ARC. They might be able to beat some commandos, but definitely not ARCs like Ordo or Mereel. Eh, no. AA is all you need. One anti armor shell takes out any SBD, and peppering B1s(no matter how many) with your deece rifle is a piece of cake.
He was attacked from behind and he was attacked by surprise, and the enemy jumped from about thirty feet up.
Have you ever heard of the hammer of God?(no religious reference there; just using it metaphorically ) Go up to the top of a high structure, like a cathedral bell tower and drop a pebble on someone. It'll strike them like a bullet. Drop a hammer and it'll shatter their skull.
Drop a Trandoshan holding a shotgun prepared to strike someone with the butt end on a clone commando by surprise, and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes down. Same story for why it don't kill you.
Secondly, ARC Troopers are better than Clone Commandoes.Wookiepedia wrote:The ARC troopers, being the best and most elite unit within the Grand Army of the Republic, were the clones that were held in a higher regard than the Clone Commandos. Even the commandos acknowledged the superiority of the ARC troopers, Darman having stated that the ARC troopers were about the closest thing on the Republic's side that he feared and Atin having complimented the ARC troopers for being "pretty well raw Jango."
If they were put into combat with each other, ARCs win, hands down.
Yeah, I know that already. But like I said before, they don't have the genetic enhancement of ARC Troopers. Jango Fett could beat plenty of clone troopers, and even a whole commando squad. ARCs, he'd have a problem with.
Also, basic clones don't have the same independence as ARCs so they wouldn't be as effective, and they wouldn't develop any specific focus on the mission except for knowlege of the enemy. This is a clone trooper's kind of calls: 'Keep at em', boys!' Or 'Eat laser, clanker!'
Clone commandos had more independence because they were bred individually to perfect one aspect of a four man squad. Like Sev: He's a sniper; sharpest shooter in the GAR. Fi's a battlefield medic; he can patch up anyone in a jiffy. And Boss and Niner received special training to lead their squad. It's like slightly more of a commanding persona, like the white job clone commanders.
ARC Troopers have plenty of independence so they can focus on the mission itself with such brilliance as was expected of any Mandalorian, particularly Jango. You can't drill that into a white job.
Thirdly, and on to Thomsons Finest;
1. Most of them I like - Code and abunch of others to be precise
2. Secondly - Sometimes, Markers/Sharpies are used for marking areas of the helmet, not the whole helmet
3. Thirdly, they are overall good, just the issue with the helmet. Nice work!
That's what I'm trying to say; hopefully you'll understand me this time.

The last one could use the most work. I don't like his Stormie outfit as well, it looks so stupid, using Stormies as clones.

There's toooo much red. I think you should have a even amount of.....wait what am I saying! I'm being nasty! :O uhhh nevermind! But one looks like it's all red.Aki-kundu wrote:Commander Four wrote:They're very messy your clones toooo much red and black on it all at once. I think Clone Commandos are actually faster than ARCs because, if you have ever played Star Wars: Republic Commando they can destroy a CIS capital ship in about 5-10 minutes and escape in less than 5 minutes. So Commandos are faster.
I have played it! And what the hell do you mean "To red?"
Red and black is my legions colour!

I voted for Bigarm, not Bash so not everyboby voted for him.darth yoda wrote:Why did everyone vote for bash...... That lego fig got demolished.
Re: Thomsons Finest
Bash for sure, but Raptor came in second. Ditch the stormie helmet and armor; those are pretty valuable these days even with the battle pack.

Oh lord .You guys have never actually seen a commando in action (but ARCs you did in the animated series). In RC YOU control the commandos! So you dont really know how good they are.

Can we stop the debate already? We're all agreed on this subject:
No white job has the genetic enhancement of a Commando. If Aki wanted to make someone as amazing as what Thomson's Finest are pre-supposed to be they would need the genetic enhancement of pure Jango, not just ARC genes.

Re: Thomsons Finest
There are freaking books about commandoes for heck's sake. And also, if you want to make "elite" squads, don't make them Clone Troopers. I used Aaron, Jack, and Brov (Brov is an exception). And for the ACP Commandoes, I had them taken out of the ARC Troopers.

ACP? Accelerated Charged Particle Commandos? ACP is a stand-in title for weaponry popularly chosen by Trandoshan mercenaries.

Shows? The only canon location actual Republic Commandos are featured is in the video game and in the book series by Karen Traviss.

Wait, I think I have deciphered what he said. He's referencing Delta 77's comment and trying to help him to understand more about the Commandos, I think.
I hope.
He'd better be.

Who is 'his'? Be more specific! Just because there is a five word minimum word rule doesn't mean your posts should be five words half the time!ODST7 wrote:Have you seen his figs?

So, Bash is apparantly the worst. How can I improve him? No, I am not ditching the stormy armour.

Re: Thomsons Finest
If you look at him, the sharpie job is pretty untidy. I have no problems with the stormie armour but, compared to some of our other sharpie users, you really need to tidy him up.
(Oh, and I thought that we were voting for the best one so I voted for Code )

Re: Thomsons Finest
How about you don't just scribble on a minifig with a Sharpie? What was the point in re-colouring the arms and legs, when you could have just used red ones? Other than those basic things, see about decals or stickers - A sloppy line does not equal a Stormie's 'stache, nor does some almost-visible printing equal chest details. If you must use Sharpie or paint, mask off the areas you don't want to paint with some tape. Really, just think about it before you do it, mmkay?
