ARP-44 "Squid"
Here is one of my newest editions to the 44th, the ARP-44, or Attack/Recon Pod-44. Inspired by, although not related to, the little recon droid in the Empire Strikes Back. This particular ARP was modified by the pilot. (the chain and horns) The helmet is a custom, and so isn't perfect.

It looks cool, but like I said in another thread, not really Republic-ey enough for my taste. But it does kinda look like an Imperial vehicle.

It's an intresting concept. But as I said; Aridar's legion is different.

Exactly. The 44th's equipment and vehicles are made by a separate company, I suppose.

Well the only way your legions equipment can be made from nother company than Seiner, or Rothana, is that they are testing proto equipment from other suppliers.

Is that really important? Heh heh...legorevolution wrote:but can the pilot see?!?! haha
Astoria, I suppose that they are testing proto equipment, or possibly receiving it from a less... "legal" source.
Here's the Pilot outside of the ARP. As you can see, the custom helm ain't perfect.

I like the pilot! WAY cool glasses. Palpatine did like doing semi-lega stuff, especially late in the war.
P.S. If they are like other special forces/commandos, then your eqipment could be "borrowed" too.

Some of the 222nd's equipment is made from Correlian contracters. It's ok to 'have it made' by someone other than roantha and kuat.

I agree with Rook. The chains do look out of place. A good moc though.

The vehicle itself looks great, but I think it would be more a CIS vehicle other than a Republic one. It looks to droidish.

The main problem is that its one solid color.

Re: ARP-44 "Squid"
Good point. I hadn't even noticed that. The chains! The chains! Look Boss the chains! I still think it looks good, just needs to refined.
Re: ARP-44 "Squid"
I think it would look good with some dark red.

K, I'll keep the multiple colors concept in mind when editing it.
Rook, I quickly took a picture of the ARP without the chains:

Whoa whoa whoa, the chains were bad but the teeth were AWESOME! I know understand why this looks like it does, if you have the peices you should build another one of these in standard Republic livery, that way you get BOTH!

Unfortunately, unless there's some unknown piece, I can't have one without the other. I'm pretty sure if I just changed a couple of things I could have too of these, although I'd have to check my "stock." Those little leg things are hard to come by.

Hmm interesting conundrum, I guess it looks okay without the teeth. I'm feeling for ya on those legs, they are a tough peice to find.

Re: ARP-44 "Squid"
It looks much better without the chains. And I would remove those bley cheese slopes on the side.

Dark red tiles would make this look awesome.

Yeah, those were just there to keep the chains up. Now that the chains are gone, those "cheese slopes" will be removed.
007, I'll see if I can find a large enough quantity of dark red in my stock. Since I haven't ever, and I doubt I ever will, used bricklink, I rely on the pieces I obtained when I was a very small kid, and the pieces from when I started really getting into Lego. That means I have a large gap between the 2 types of sets I have.
