Taking the screw out of the keychain
Well, I first tried this in the summer. I got a plo koon key chain, and managed to break the pin under his head creating a little hole on the top, and a leg and torso stuck together. Before Christmas I got an Emperor keychain and gave that one a go. I failed, the keychain broke with a little stub at the top of his head. Now, I got multiples of assaj ventress, and ashoka. Can anybody find me that tutorial y one of the mods or admins on fbtb on how to get the whole screw out? Thanks. Feel free to talk about these methods here as well.
Re: Taking the screw out of the keychain
There's a method where you thread a large paperclip through the loop and pull using pliers and some rubber grip, but I've found that the new keychains are too tightly stuck together for that to work. I actually ended up constructing a rather elaborate contraption out of a wood vice in the garage that worked really well. I'll check tomorrow to see if it's not been dismantled - if it's still there, I'll take some pics.

Don't let the n00bs see it!
Re: Taking the screw out of the keychain
Nice this something that everyone should see I would have bought tons of key chains @ Legoland CA if knew I could have gotten them apart.
Re: Taking the screw out of the keychain
I just get my dad (who does everything when I want Lego to be modded (he once bought me a small set because he destroyed a minifig hook and had to glue it, since he felt guilty )) to just cut the pin above the head away, and then I just paint it. I got a Snowtrooper and Imp guard by that way. I rather have a minfig which you cannot disassemble then one with a hole in it's head. I also used the Snowtrooper before as a keychain but he;s still pretty nice.

I'd just spend the money on BP's, that be way more better.

I've done this several times. I just use a pair of pliers, works every time.
Re: Taking the screw out of the keychain
Huh... Gareth, has that worked on the newer ones? Maybe one of us got a dud batch.

Well, I don't know about the screw, but you can remove the legs with pliers (just the side parts) that's how I got my two "max" pouch legs.

@Rook
GASP!!!
Actually, I prefer the plain fleshie heads over clone heads.
BTW, the hole in the fin makes me want to cry.

Re: Taking the screw out of the keychain
Maybe if I ever get Senate Commandos cheaply I should get the magnet instead of the keychains from now on...
Re: Taking the screw out of the keychain
Hmmm.
How big is the hole in the helmet? It looks like it might be useful if the right size...

You should talk.
IMO bricklink is better, I just got a senate commando helmet for 2 bucks there, it's easier than ordering and breaking a keychain.
