Do you like the inside of the helmet's visor painted or left alone?
Painting Insides of Clone Helmet Visors?
Anyone who's seen my creations may have noticed that I paint the insides of the clone troopers' visors with black paint.
I've noticed that no one else does it - I wanted to know what people think of it since I don't know if people actually like it or not or if they have thought of doing it to their own clones...
From the front and side, it makes little difference:
But if you look at it at an angle from the front:
... The painted one still looks like it has a visor on it - the unpainted one is difficult to make out.
I don't understand why the visors were made hollow in the first place...

It doesn't really add anything special to it in fact it looks kind of odd.

So THAT's why your helmets look a tad different...
Personally, I think it makes them a little more unLego like...

This technique works really well. Ironically came to the same problem (about the hollow visor look) and have been looking for a way to correct it. Do you think you could post or PM me an istructional, um, post for it?
Re: Painting Insides of Clone Helmet Visors?
Basically what he does is paint the inside... and I guess he masks off the part he doesn't want paint on.
Re: Painting Insides of Clone Helmet Visors?
That might be it . Hey thunder, do you think sharpie works just as well?
Re: Painting Insides of Clone Helmet Visors?
It's cool, Nice idea! welcome to CABG by the way, I noticed your new. Some time I will probably fill in the visor gap on my p3 helmets.

Phase 3? Or is that a typo...
Because Phase 3 is technically Stormtrooper armor...

Re: Painting Insides of Clone Helmet Visors?
Hm... It wasn't as obvious as I thought it was...
To paint the inside of the visor's I simply apply black paint with a very fine paintbrush--- If you're making a Republic Commando you can use blue instead for the visor, or green for Gree's...
I have also used a toothpick but you risk scratching off the paint when you pull it out and go in again. I don't have it on a head when I paint the visor.
@DarthPineapple
At first it looked odd to me too but I've gotten used to it - I've kept it because I think it better defines the visor on the helmet.

Re: Painting Insides of Clone Helmet Visors?
Hmm...it actually makes the helmet look like a whole piece, without the gap fo the visor. The only problem I see is that if you want to switch the head underneath around with different colours, you'll have to repaint it.
I prefer just leving the inside unpainted.
