Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Good evening, morning, afternoon, or dead of night, my viewers. That's how I great my viewers on MOCpages at least. Something like that. Anyways...
This here is the 'Eternal Light', a Recusant-class Light Destroyer, or Commerce Guild Support Ship, a WIP obviously. About 2/3rds done. Still a long way to go. I decided to give it a kind of benevolent name, because in my mind, the CIS are the good guys in the war, the Republic bad. Seeing as how Republic Star Destroyers have names like "Resolute", or "Valiant" (is that one?), I decided to give this ship a name not related to money or evil, like every other Separatist ship. Thus Eternal Light, a good sounding name for the good ship. This dwarf's my old Munificent...
Moving on. WIP, in progress, whatever.
This picture was taken about 10 AM this morning. It's the near completed engine section, and the in-progress thingy that connects them to the main hull.
[img][/img]
This was taken some time later, around 6 PM. As you see, I made significant progress, completing the engines and the thingy that connects them to the main hull, and the rear plating. I have yet to add antenae or anything like that. And I took off the turrets, as they were always getting bent and broken off by the floor.
[img][/img]
Engine details. They're a bit blocky for my tastes, but whatever. They still look decent.
[img][/img]
Main hull details. Since this is my ship, I put a hangar in that goes straight through the ship to the other side. Detailing still in progress here.
[img][/img]
From the back. I haven't found that last of the trans orange dots, but I'm working on it.
[img][/img]
Final shot, demonstrating how big this thing is. It's only 2/3 complete too, and it's already the same size as the bigger of my two dogs. Weighs about 4 pounds, I estimate. As you see here, it's half the length, maybe less, of the bath tub. She's a big ship... I wonder why they call ship's 'she'...
[img][/img]
Any questions, suggestions, concerns, problems, criticism, advice, or ideas?

Uhhh. It's big.
May I suggest taking off that trans orange?

What's wrong with the tras-orange?
I like it! It has a nice shape, and is large! Beef up the middle section (the part that connects the hull to the engines).
And welcome!

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
It'll improve with time. This is the basic frame. And that trans orange is supposed to be the engine glow, and if I take it off, well, I don't have any peices that I could use to make it look like a thruster. So it's trans orange or flat, solid, dark grey for now.
Beefing up the connector section might prove problematic. I beleived myself done wit that part, so it's kind of sealed. Sealed as in all the peices interlock, and it'd take quite the re-design. It's a lot stronger than it looks too. Besides, I have a dead line, Feb. 29th.

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
I would trying beefing up the connecting part inbetween the Engine and Main ship. It looks like it's not sturdy enough. But otherwise it's great!
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
That is really good! I can't wait to see it finished!
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Wow, good job on this! Just bulk it up a bit and it will look better! Can't wait to see it when it's finished.
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Yay, Awesome-o-saurus joined CABG! Anyway, awesome ship. And, it's really big. Nearly Rook scale, if I do say so myself . The trans orange looks great, and I can't wait to see the final product!

Good thing for you here, I can post WIPs on this site. I'm not doing that on MOCpages. Speaking of WIPs, I should post my legion soon.

Wait! You are in the guild and only have three posts! Wow! But any way really great ship. I like the hanger and the entire shape of it. Can't wait to see the bridge and the front!

Not really, since Rook usually builds minifig-scale, but this is kinda System scale...
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
System scale is minifg scale. This is more UCS scale.

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
No it isnt.
System scale is TLG's take on scale. It sometimes is close to minifig scale (like the 4505 Falcon) but true minifig scale is when a minifig is the same size as a human (even if it isn't).

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Well, they're pretty close, and this thing is still waaayyy too small to be either of them, so the point is moot.

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Yeah, I didn't really have a term I could use for the scale, since it's not really a MINI either...
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Like I already said, UCS scale.

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
No, it still feels to small to be UCS scale..
Oh I know! It's a new scale, like the one in the newest Falcon!
What did they call it? Mid-scale or something?

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
It's half the langth of a bathtub and pretty detailed; I'd say it's UCS scale.

Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Yeah, take off the trans orange untill you get some real engine made, but other than that I've got no complaints! Awesome work so far .
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
Those ARE the engines. The trans orange is just the engine glow. The three prongs on the back are the engines.

The engines on that ship are much more substantial, though...
Re: Eternal Light (WIP, Recusant-class Light Destroyer)
The engines are confusing. They aren't too many shots of them in the Battle over Coruscant. But here's the two screenshots I got:

You decide. I planned to do it with engine glow, because I'm like that, but glow isn't too good right now. If I try to make it just the engine without glow, I have no references or description to go off of.
I hope those pictures show up.

So, when do you think it'll be done?
