Mini Lucrehulk-class battleship

Alright, homeskillets of CABG, I need YOU to help me find a way to build the ring of a Lucrehulk! Here's my idea:

I've figured out how I'd connect everything an all that good stuff, my problem is that I'm not sure a bricklink order would arrive in time, let alone be approved by my parents (They've only let me bricklink something twice, and it was for my birthday or for Christmas [and with my own money, too!] they don't trust the internet).

So, my question is, o great builders of the shining CABG -can you help me to find an alternitive way to build the ring? I've already got the sphere figured out -great brickshelf saw to that. Now I leave this matter in your capabable hands, people better at building than I, for tomorow, Tuesday, and most of Wendesday, I'll be cut off from lego (family trip, bleh). But the internet will still be mine.

Point is, I need ideas.

It's gonna look like that, hopefully, when it's done. Ignore the exploding Munificent and Venator bow.

Looks good so far! Mine's already done and its awesome, I should have some pics of it up tomarrow.

What you have now is great! Now you need to attach them somehow...

If you can't get it to work, I'd suggest using those "click" hinges...

That's my problem. I don't have enough, and if I do, they're gonna be in every color of the Legbow. So, unless the gods will my parents to come to common sense and let me buy some stuff with the money I've been saving since last summer, I need an alertnate way to make a ring carrier. I really hope this way works though, because I already figured out how to connect everything.

Well you could always use some of these.
That is assuming you have eight. Although four could work just fine it you used another technique for the bottom.
Then again that piece is kind of.....chunky.

Hmm.. Yes. I only have 2 though. But bricklink... Well, first, I'd have to figure out how to make them into a nize circle on both edges...

To connect the bottom of those pieces,should you get them,I would take a black technic connecter thingy and use that in the holes.

Sweet, it looks pretty good right now! Good luck connection those, but keep it up!

I will need to order parts from the bricklink. This ship won't be done in time for the Guild Build deadline though... Oh well, I'm still gonna make it, because I have a few kids (metaphorically speaking, they aren't actually mine. Just clearing that up) on MOCpages who think I'm the greatest (I'm actually 2nd greatest, in my opinion) CIS shipbuilder on the site. Here's what makes them inspired:
